Pros : Best to drive on India’s busiest and narrowest streets.

Cons : Rear side is congested as requires more space to seat three adults comfortably.

Look and Style: Last month I bought new Maruti A-Star and I am very much satisfied with the overall performance of the car. I think A-Star hatch is the best to drive on Indian streets as it consumes less parking space and one can easily drive it through busiest of Indian streets. The aggressive and sportier exteriors provide a very attractive and stylish look to the small car. The highroof line and decent legroom space further enhances the beauty of the car. The newly formulated alloy wheels further enhance the overall sporty characteristic of the car.     Comfort: The well proportioned interiors of the small hatchback provide a class leading feeling. Well equipped with well cushioned, upmarket and sporty interior components add to the beauty of the car. Car offers enough boot space to carry daily shopping bags and most interesting thing is its rear seats which have a 50:50 split folding option which further increased the luggage carrying capacity of the small car. The dashboard comes equipped with advanced and technological features that provide a luxurious feel.     Pickup: A-Star hatchback offers me decent output power to drive it through Indian city roads. Car crosses 0 to 100 km/h mark in just few seconds.     Mileage:  Car offers me decent fuel economy of around 13 km per liter on city roads.     Best Features: Dynamic, aggressive and sporty exteriors, upmarket and good quality interiors inherited with advanced features are few of its best features.  Split folding seats and well positioned dash is the most interesting things of the small car.     Needs to Improve: The rear side of the car is bit congested as needs to be more spacious.     Overall Experience: In my opinion Maruti A-Star hatchback is a perfect car for city drivers or those who want something new and sporty in decent price value.

Looks like the above indicated mileage of 13 km per liter on city roads is little lowerside.

Sounds more like a salesperson marketing the car rather than a genuine customer providing a feedback!

Agree with Sylvia. 13kmpl is too low for a small hatch.

agree with both of you, indeed looks like a maruti guy,,,but mileage of 13,,is not so good

for me, the perfect family car is my Santro Xing. adequate power, perfectly proportioned seats (good for fatigue free long rides), acceptable fuel economy, quality plastics, responsive steering and all of the above, good service personnel. Maruti has upper hand at the service networks only. the quality of plastics, fabrics still below industry average. the pick up drops suddenly, if we turn on the A/c. Safety.. OMG..

Hi Nair, Do you believe Santro or any Huyndai is Safe Car. I dont think Santro has ABS or AB, which to me is saftey aspect in any car, which is normallly missing in Indian card and available in only in higher segments. i10 has ABS and Air Bag but only in ASTA, so frankly buying i10 ERA or i10 Sportz is the same, the only difference beign some glamorous items added to the CAR. I am not great Fan of Maruti Either, but atleast ASTAR has ABS and Airbag at a resonable cost.

Hi Srini, Read your comments. What I think is, a car without road worthiness (I mean, if you drive A Star/ Estilo/ Wagen R in a single carriage way and on the opposite track there is a heavy vehicle passing, definitely the maruti get lifted and you loose your control) what is the use of ABS and EBD. We can say simply that yes, my car is with ABS. Right? Me also not supporting Hyundai in all aspects.

Recantly i have purchased Hyundai Eon car and had comparision with A-Star for choice. While selecting Eon the criteria was the space at boot and rear side is more than A-Star, avarage is more, looks and design, style is good. Interior quality is better than Maruti. Pick up is good without AC. Driving comfort, pleasure and engine smoothness is known with Hyundai cars.Price is less by approx.45 thousands including schemes. Now happy with Hyundai Eon.
