Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) - A Safe Family Car.

It was so neat, excellent and comfortable experience when it came to a Hyundai showroom visit for a general inquiry. Executives were able to positively explain and make a good impression on their elite i20 Asta (O) petrol model. Even they helped in comparing with other competitors which I had in my last list and to bring elite i20 to the top of my list (Hyundai was the last showroom I visited). Buying experience was really smooth. My criteria in preferring this model were the availability of 6 airbags, having a weight of almost 200kgs more than the sedan Maruti Desire which actually made me feel that the car is stable and the looks. Overall showroom visit and buying experience was really helpful and were excellent. My model is an elite i20 Asta (O) petrol which is 1.2l and with 81.86bhp of torque (bought on the month of October 2019). My normal or day today routes are the national highways and state highways which are all the plain routes with no high ups and down except bridges and flyovers. Apart from the lag while moving on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. I did not feel any issue with power on highways. It shows great and excellent performance on 4th 5th gears. I drove it to a hill-station (Vyttila - Thodupuzha - Vagamon) on a weekend when I really felt that the car was struggling hard to manage on altitudes and on pretty good steep roads. Even after accelerating to the max on the 1st gear it was really hard to see the car moving. The Maruti swift petrol was handling the same altitude/route with no hard work or issues. Apart from the power lag mostly on 1st, 2nd and sometimes on the 3rd, I did not find any other issues with the model. One more issue I felt is the lack of availability of seat covers, as it has a fabric seat cover it is easy to get wet and dirty (Model have 6 airbags and 2 out of the 6 are in the seats). Both the front and rear seating position are excellent with good thigh support. The car feels really safe while moving and breaking on pretty good speeds. The steering is really gentle in handling. Infotainment systems are all really great. Have decent utility spaces. City (Kochi) Mileage is 9 - 10Kms and 15kms on highways. Apart from the lagging issue, I am totally impressed with the Hyundai i20 elite.
