If you are about to purchase Hyundai car this Review will definitely help you a lot to make your final decision. DON'T go ahead just by seeing Hyundai car's flashy exteriors and good internal features. These are not something which you will see on a long run. I have been using Hyundai i20 for more than 3 years and drove around 50,000 Kms. The worst thing about Hyundai cars is that they have only spent on flashy exteriors and interiors but don't have anything in their engine. This car provides one of the worst engines performance and milage as comapared to same segment cars from other brands like Maruti Suzuki, Ford and Volkwagen. During purchase of my car, sales representative told me that this car will easily give you an average of 14 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl on highways. I was fine with these numbers. Even city average of 13kmpl and highway average of 15 kmpl was acceptable to me. But this car can't give me average of more than 11.5 in city run and 13.5 on highway run. Trust me on this, I drive very well (I have driven cars to Leh, Kaza and many other difficult terrains as well as one of the best roads in India like Yamuna Expressway), no one can get an average of more than 13.5 kmpl with this car. If you don't believe me then ask sales representative to show you 'KPL' test of the car in front of you. I am very sure, he will not entertain you much after this and will not take you on 'KPL' test. Trust me this average will make you feel betrayed till the time you will use this car and go for refuelling. Recently I have launched a serious complaint to Hyundai customer support and found that Hyundai does not claim their car average (mileage) on their official website (see it yourself on http://www.hyundai.com/in/en/Showroom/Cars/Elite-i20/PIP/index.html ). Whereas other equivalent car brands like Maruti Suzuki (swift) and Volkswagen (polo) do claim the car average (see it yourself on the official websites under the performance tab and then by selecting the engine type i.e. petrol or diesel). After checking this, anyone can understand why Hyundai is not claiming any mileage for their engines on their official websites. And one more thing after your complaints, the customer support will surely call you and do some random checks or will provide you free service but again in the end this will never solve your purpose. Below is the detailed conversation between me and the customer representative please read it and open up your eyes before you make a big mistake by purchasing Hyundai cars. (Read the below conversation from top to bottom to know the exact trap in which you are going to jump by purchasing Hyundai cars) Dear Sir, Greetings from Capital Hyundai!! As per the instructions received, I had visited to Capital Hyundai, Sec 63 Noida and expressed all of my concerns to Mr. Govind Mishra. My major concern is only related to my cars average which is currently approx 10.5-11.5 kmpl (city drive) and approx 12.5-13.5 kmpl (highway drive) (these values are based on my own continuos monitoring of my cars average). I requested Mr. Govind that this car (Hyundai i20) should "at least" give 15kmpl average on highways and 13kmpl during city drive. As per Mr. Govind, these figures are not achievable and He simply asked me to take back my car without any additional effort from his side. It was a compete wastage of my time to visit the Capital Hyundai Sec 63 because before going there I have clearly explained my concerns to Mr. Govind and one more representative on receiving calls from their end. Now I feel more betrayed as during purchase of my car, I was told that this car can easily give an average more than 16kmpl on regular highways if driven well. After receiving this type of response from Capital Hyundai, I tried to recheck the claimed Average (kmpl) for Hyundai i20 from official website and found that pamphlet at stores does claim car average (kmpl) but not HMIL website. I checked the same data for some of other equivalent cars and found that Polo(Volkswagen) and Swift (Maruti Suzuki) both mention the car average on official websites but not Hyundai. Now I am completely hopeless with the promises and customer support provided by Hyundai and will try that none of my close one won't make the same mistake as I did. Thank you for your kind attention.
