I got the delivery of this car on 3rd December and since then it has already been driven more than 3000 km. So, how was my experience? I will start by describing the car first and then will come into the driveability of this car.
Exterior - Ford always had a hexagonal shaped thing on the front of their cars, but this time they designed the front grill in Aston martin style with swept back headlamps. Which looks great and elegant. The side of the car looks great with blackened B-Pillars and a strong shoulder line but the 14-inch alloy wheels should have been replaced by at least 15" wheels. Otherwise, it's a well-balanced design. The back of the car is simple but elegant with a spoiler on the top. Though the boot can only be opened by keys or remote or a switch positioned down the instrument cluster.
Interior - The interior of the car makes you feel roomy. But the cabin quality is not the best, though acceptable. Front driver seat gets the height and reaches adjustments with quite good support and adjustable headrests and height adjustable seat belts. The back seats are quite comfortable with enough leg and room but the headrests are fixed. Also, the transmission tunnel might create problems for the middle passenger in the back seat. You don't get any rear air conditioner vents but personally, I feel the air conditioning system in this car is quite strong enough to chill the whole car in just a matter of seconds. The front row gets loads of dedicated spaces for bottles and belongings but sadly the back row of the car does not get any bottle holder. And also the back window does not go all the way down, probably due to the location of the speakers.
Driving - Driving this car is simply an awesome experience. I have driven the 1.5 TDCi engine and it was awesome. The bite point of the clutch is quite predictable though the gear shifting experience could have been a little better.. The brakes are really powerful and smooth. You will never feel any hint of lack of power while driving this car and NVH levels are very nicely controlled. Though the suspension might feel a bit stiff sometimes but the ride is very much comfortable with marginal body rolls at high speeds around the corner. The steering is really light at slow speeds but it gains weight nicely as you climb up the speedometer.
Features - With the titanium variant you get dual front airbag, ABS with EBD like security features. Aux, USB inputs along with a 12 V power outlet is there. I found the ford my dock on the front to be very innovative and useful. This trim is loaded with a very sleek automatic climate control unit with air quality control. The sound quality of the installed audio unit is quite nice
Overall - To sum it up this is a great value for money car. Moreover, Ford is really working hard to spread their service centers across the country and with the make in India project the servicing and genuine ford parts cost are going down. You can buy the Ford Figo without any worry!
