Punto , A beast from Fiat

I own an Exotica Red Fiat Punto 1.3 Diesel 75 HP for the past 7 months and it never let me down. : The looks just kill. Grabs a lot of attention when parked and on road .The 15 inch alloys are better than the 16 inch alloys int he 90 HP model. The overall design is fluid and the new front grill and headlamps give it an upmarket look. Every time you park it and walk away, it will put a smile on your face when you look back at it :) The car gives you a lot of confidence to drive. The brake bite is accurate and the control-l and stability of the vehicle is unmatched. The power when you keep it in the Turbo RPM range is great. AC is good enough . Though a bit of turbo lag appears in the city driving , highway drive is really enjoyable. The interior is well insulated from the outside engine an tyre noises. The car doesn't vibrate till 130 kmph. I could hit 150 but didn't try to exceed it considering it is unsafe with the roads in India. The fog lamps are useful. Overtaking in any gear is possible sometimes even without downshifting if you are in the 2000 RPM range. Mileage could go up to 23 kmpl on highway and till 18 kmpl in free city driving. The minimum you good get is 14 kmpl in bad traffic. The best part of the ride is the ground clearance. You can drive it like an SUV.Well almost. Swallows most potholes and you don't ever have to worry scraping the under body at those badly setup speed humps. Coming to the interiors, they are one of the best in the class. Seats are spacious and comfortable. Leather wrapped steering and gear knob cover look premium.Bluetooth connectivity is very functional. The latest add on of touch screen and navigation completes it and keeps up with the competition. The speaker position is apt and the music is soothing . Rear legroom and head room are better than most hatches in market, even the i20 elite. The seats are just firm enough and has good thigh support. The boot is adequate for a hatch. Cons: The clutch is very deep and could be irritating in bumper to bumper traffic. Turbo lag appears if you are not conscious about the RPM. Turning radius is a bit let down. Reverse parking camera an auto retractable mirrors could have added up to the feature list. There are good discounts with fiat which beats the competition. Overall, Fiat Punto is a good pick for a mixed driving of city and highway and you won;t regret it.
