My Second Love (To be precise)

I will mix-up my review of both pros and cons together so that people will not choose to read only what they want and understand every bit of this car. Just to give you a background of why I titled it 'My Second Love' is I never thought of this beauty as it had not existed yet and I had already fallen in love with the all new Swift that came out. I almost got engaged with her by visiting the showroom and fixing the date of booking. Then came this lovely car, the Ford Ecosport, that just blew away my mind and I almost forgot the Swift when I saw this in the showroom for the first time. This is where it all started and I am a happy owner of this lovely car. The Ford Ecosport has just created a revolution in Indian car scene as this stands out from all the hatchbacks, sedans and the biggies-SUV's on the road. This "mini-suv" has made all the other car manufacturers think as to why this idea didn't stuck their mind. The car is beautifully designed keeping aerodynamics in mind. The face of this car looks aggressively stylish with a huge air-dam giving a butch look and stylish and sleek headlights wrapped around. The black cladding on the side skirts give the car a distinctive look which highlights the ground clearance of this car. However, the sad part of this cladding is, with time the color fades away making it look a bit old and ugly. The doors are heavy like metal that gives a feel of safety and sturdiness. As per Ford, the quarter panel at the rear has a specific design which supports the car aerodynamically by giving the down-force at high speeds. The rear door is again heavy as the spare wheel is mounted on it and the access switch to open the door is placed as a small button on the handle. Coming to the interiors of the car, the driver seat is placed high, that gives a good visibility on the road and the surrounding. Its a driver's car when it comes to the driving aspect and has a typical Ford feel. One more feel good factor of this car is when you are next to a sedan or a hatchback you really get the feel that you are driving a big car as the other cars look lower to you and the people look towards you with their head raised (grin). The front two seats of this car is pretty comfortable however, Ford could have provided a much better seat which is wider. This car is comfortable for 4 fully grown adults in a long drive and for a 5th person it might be a little difficult to stretch and sit. However, for people with moderate physic the car can squeeze in 5 of them. The stock music system provided is amazing with a good bass effect until a certain amount of music volume beyond which the bass just fades away and giving a loud sound only. The NHV of the vehicle is amazing provided you are driving a petrol motor. The diesel engine is not very far of being the best NHV amongst the other cars around. Having said that, I have experienced rattling sounds from my dashboard offlate. Not to forget that my car is now 4 years old and I have experienced some off-road with this car which might be the reason for the rattle sounds. The engine of the the car is derived from the Ford Fiesta that has been a car loved by people around the world. The diesel engine has a pretty good power with a turbo charger kicking in at 2k rpm.There is a good low end torque to the engine and does 0-100kmph at close to 9.5seconds. This is my personal best and cannot be considered standard. The mileage of the car as claimed by ford is 21-22kmpl for a diesel mill and 18-19kmpl for petrol. I have been able to extract close to 22kmpl with a sedate driving style. Overall, I am very happy with the car and have munched 26k kms in 3.5 years to be accurate with all the excitement of my life and looking forward to cover much more miles in the coming years . And with this my love life with the Ford Ecopsort continues to be happy and prosperous forever.
