Volvo Auto India is emerging as one of the popular luxury car makers in India, which has numerous models in its portfolio. One of the splendid vehicle in its fleet is the XC90 SUV, which is available in a single variant. It is christened as Volvo XC90 D5 AWD and is powered by a 2.4-litre diesel engine that is capable of developing 200bhp in combination with a maximum torque output of 420Nm. It has DSTC anti-skid system, which is dynamic stability and traction control that further adds to its safety quotient. This SUV is bestowed with ergonomically designed seven individual seats, which provides maximum comfort. Apart from these, the manufacturer has installed several advanced equipments like an integrated 6-CD changer with MP3/WMA compatibility along with rear seat entertainment system including two individual screens. Apart from these, the manufacturer has installed vital driver support functions including Blind Spot information system along with park assist sensors for front and rear. At present, this vehicle competes with the likes of BMW X5 and Audi Q7 in Indian automobile market.

Exteriors:

The external appearance is pretty decent like any other model in Volvo's portfolio. Although, it has some outdated exterior features, it still looks to be eye-catching owing to the class-leading body fit. To start with its front profile, it has a rectangular shaped chrome radiator grille that is engraved with prominent Volvo's insignia. It is complimented by two character lines given on the bonnet. The headlight cluster is equipped with a pair of projector style headlamps along with turn indicators. The front bumper has a set of glossy metallic strips along with an aluminum nudge guard . In addition to these, it also has a pair of LED daytime running lights. Its side profile is quite stylish and is accentuated by a lot of chrome treatment. Its B and C pillar have black sash tape, while the window surround gets chrome garnish. The door handles and ORVM caps are in body color, wherein the external mirrors are further equipped with side turn blinkers. The overall look of side profile is further augmented by a set of stylish alloy wheels, which are covered with tubeless radial tyres. Its rear has a signature taillight cluster with LED light pattern, which surrounds a large tailgate. The rear bumper is in body color and has reflectors along with a protective aluminum strip.

Interiors:

Its internal cabin is done up in off-black color scheme, which is further accentuated by sanded-silver along with R-design aluminum inserts. The three spoke steering wheel is decorated with aluminum inlays and has leather covering on it. Its cockpit has a stylish dashboard and is designed with walnut wooden trim. It is further equipped with aspects like a storage box, AC unit, instrument panel and an advanced central console with column stalked controls. The leather seats are ergonomically designed, have a center armrest in all three rows and head rests as well. Other utility based aspects are rear view mirrors, ashtray, tunnel console, accessory power sockets and lockable glove box unit. It comes with a total wheelbase of 2857mm along with an overall width of 2112mm that determines the leg and shoulder space inside.

Engine and Performance:

The car maker has equipped Volvo XC90 D5 AWD trim with a 2.4-litre diesel engine that is incorporated with a turbo charger. It is a five-cylindered engine with a total displacement capacity of 2400cc.
