Etios 2013-2014 GD Xclusive Edition Review
The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automobile giant, Toyota Motor Corporation has launched an Xclusive edition of their affordable diesel sedan in the Indian car market. This latest sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options for the buyers to choose from. The company has christened the diesel engine based sedan as Toyota Etios GD Xclusive Edition and will be making only limited number of 900 such units. This sedan was first launched in year 2010 and since then has been doing impressive revenue generation for the company. The company has added a few trendy aspects to this Limited Edition trim to make it more appealing and stylish. The list of the features include two tone premium interiors to spruce up the insides, an Xclusive badge on the boot lid, an advanced audio system that now has Bluetooth connectivity along with a remote control for easier access. The company is also also offering this variant with exclusive chrome garnish for ORVM caps, taillight cluster, radiator grille and headlight cluster as well. This Xclusive Edition trim carries the same four cylinder, 1.4-litre D-4D diesel mill, which has a single overhead camshaft valve configuration. It has a displacement capacity of about 1364cc and is mated to a proficient five speed manual transmission gear box.
Exteriors :
There is an extensive use of chrome for this latest variant, especially on radiator grille, headlight cluster, wing mirror caps and taillight cluster. The outsides of this stylish sedan are very charming with a chrome garnished radiator grille. It is flanked by a bright headlight cluster that is powered by side turn indicators along with halogen headlamps. Below this is a curvy body colored bumper, which has a wide air dam in the center, which helps in cooling the engine faster. The front wind screen is large and has a single intermittent wiper with a wash function as well. The side profile is smooth and lustrous, which has chrome external rear view mirrors on both sides along with body colored door handles as well. The flared up wheel arches have been equipped with a robust set of 15 inch steel wheels that are covered with full wheel caps. These sturdy steel rims have been further covered with tubeless radial tyres of size 185/60 R15 , which have a good grip on the road. The rear end has a bright tail lamp cluster with a neatly done up boot lid, which now has a Xclusive badge on it. Then there is a stylish chrome garnish on the boot lid, while the roof has a mounted antenna as well.
Interiors :
There has been some impressive changes to the insides of this Toyota Etios GD Xclusive Edition trim. The company has bestowed new premium fabric upholstery on the comfortable seats, which provide ample leg space along with good head and shoulder room as well. There are close to seven bottle holders, which can store one litre bottles in it. Then this sedan trim also has front and rear door pockets to keep some smaller things at hand. There is a internal day and night rear view mirror, driver as well as a front co-passenger sun visor with a mirror in the passenger side visor.
