MSIL has especially added two new variants in its Ciaz model lineup for the festive season. Among the two, this Maruti Ciaz RS ZDi Plus SHVS carries a 1.3-litre diesel motor with Smart Hybrid technology. This is highly fuel efficient and helps in returning a maximum of about 28.09 Kmpl. It is introduced only with cosmetic add-ons without any changes to its mechanical specifications. The new spoiler pack brings more style to its exteriors with alterations made on its sides, front and rear profiles. It comes with other elements like bright projector headlamps, expressive boot lid and a modish set of alloy wheels. In terms of interiors, the cabin is decorated in all black color scheme, while the instrument cluster is garnished with grey chrome. Except for these, it carries all other aspects that are available in its high end options.

Exteriors:

It is offered with a spoiler pack that certainly improves its aerodynamics. The frontage looks the same as in other trims in its lineup, but the only addition in this one is the front under spoiler. It has luminous projector headlamps on either sides of its radiator grille, which is plated with chrome. The side under spoiler and visible character lines, both gives it an aesthetic appeal. The wheel arches meanwhile, are integrated with a modish set of 16 inch alloy wheels with 195/55 R16 sized tubeless tyres. Also, there are stylish outside rear view mirrors with side turn blinkers fitted to it. The rear end looks refreshing with two spoilers of which, one is placed under the bumper and another on its trunk lid. Besides there, it has other features like radiant tail lamps, windscreen and a high mount stop lamp.

Interiors:

The all black color scheme grants its cabin both decent and elegant look. Some advanced attributes are equipped inside like a three spoke steering wheel that is wrapped with leather and an instrument panel with grey chrome finish. This comes with a trip meter and fuel consumption display. Moreover, the neat chrome garnish on AC louvers knob, door handles, parking brake lever tip, and floor console further gives it a rich appeal. There is height adjustment facility available for driver's seat, while the rear one can be folded to increase boot space further. A few other utility based features include rear reading lamps, sunglass holder, front and rear accessory sockets as well.

Engine and Performance:

The manufacturer has incorporated it with a 1.3-litre diesel motor that can displace 1248cc. It also comes with Smart Hybrid technology and features an integrated starter generator. This is a four cylinder mill that is fitted with 16 valves and based on a DOHC valve configuration. It produces a peak power of 88.5bhp at 4000rpm and yields torque output of 200Nm at 1750rpm. It is coupled with a five speed manual transmission gear box and integrated with a common rail direct injection system. This can attain a top speed of around 155 Kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 Kmph in nearly 12 to 13 seconds.

Braking and Handling:

This vehicle has its front axle assembled with a McPherson strut, while the rear one gets a torsion beam. This particular mechanism is highly efficient and aids in better stability at all times. The braking system on the other hand, comprises of ventilated discs to front wheels and drum brakes are fitted to the rear ones. It is also accompanied by anti lock braking system. Meanwhile, better handling is ensured by a responsive steering column. It supports the turning radius of 5.4 meters and makes driving easier even in heavy traffic conditions.

Comfort Features:

The boot space of 510 litres is good enough for placing ample luggage inside. All its four windows are power operated, while there is auto up and down feature as well as anti pinch function on driver's side. An automatic air conditioner is offered with a pollen filter. Presence of air vents in the front and rear cabin only helps in adding more convenience. For entertainment, there is a touchscreen SmartPlay system, whose controls are mounted on the steering wheel. The seat belts are offered with a pretensioner and force limiters. It also has driver's seat belt reminder with buzzer, which is displayed on the instrument panel. Aside from these, the list includes reverse parking camera, engine immobilizer, security alarm, rear defogger, as well as automatic day and night inside rear view mirror for additional protection.
