Scorpio 2014-2022 S10 AT 2WD Review

The Mahindra Scorpio S10 AT 2WD has a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission which sends the power to the rear wheels. It is based on the top-spec S10 trim and is priced at Rs 14.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi as of May 11, 2017). It is around Rs 1.5 lakh more expensive than the INTELLI HYBRID S10 variant which comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The 2.2-litre diesel engine has a variable geometry turbocharger along with an intercooler which helps to deliver a power packed performance along with decent mileage. The engine produces a maximum of 120PS of power at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 280Nm between 1800 to 2800rpm. However, the automatic variant misses the Intelli-Hybrid technology which reduces the fuel consumption by motor assist, electronic stop-start and regenerative braking. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.4 Kmpl.

The Scorpio S10 AT 2WD comes loaded with safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, collapsible steering wheel, and a digital immobiliser with encrypted key recognition system for preventing the vehicle from theft and unauthorised entry.

However, the major highlights of the S10 variant are static bending projector headlamps with LED DRLs, chrome inserts in the front grille, alloy wheels and the 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation. It has a smooth dashboard with rectangular air vents.

It also comes with other features like multi-information display in the instrument cluster, rain and light sensors, automatic climate control, audio and cruise controls on steering wheel and a height adjustable driver seat.
