Steering Column | Tilt & Collapsible |
Steering Gear Type The mechanism by which the rotary motion of the steering wheel is converted to straight line motion required to move a car. |
Rack & Pinion |
Turning Radius (wheel base) The diameter of the circle created by the outer front wheel when the vehicle takes a full turn. The lower the Turning Radius the lesser the space the car requires to make a turn. |
5.1 meters |

In its latest iteration, the Honda Jazz offers a healthy balance of space, equipment and convenience. A big part of the last factor is the inclusion of an automatic transmission, which was missing in the old model. The Jazz AT is only offered with a petrol engine and in two variants i.e. the Jazz 1.2 S AT i VTEC and Jazz 1.2 V AT i VTEC. The V is the more expensive variant. At a price of Rs 8.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, as of 9 May, 2017), it commands a premium of Rs 1.07 lakh over its manual counterpart.
On the outside, the Jazz V adds touches like a rear wiper and washer, alloy wheels and wing mirrors with integrated indicators. Inside, like the SV grade, it gets an advanced instrument cluster with an LCD multi-information display and even features paddle-shifters for the automatic gearbox. This variant also adds an outside temperature display, a leather wrap for the steering wheel and a glossy silver finish for the inner door handles. It also sports a bigger, 5-inch infotainment screen with CD compatibility added to the kitty. A nice touch is the addition of automatic climate control and electrically folding wing mirrors. For safety, apart from dual airbags and ABS, it also gets a rear camera.
Powering the Jazz AT is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The motor comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19kmpl, which is marginally better than the Jazz MT.
The Honda Jazz automatic goes up against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Maruti Ignis, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
