Chevrolet India is a division of General Motors India Pvt. Ltd. and is the fifth largest car maker in country after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra. Chevrolet came in to the country in 1928 and since then it has established a firm grip over the Indian car market. General Motors was the first company to open an assembly plant in the country, production started in 1928 itself however in FY1952-53 the production was  due to Indian government policies. Not only Chevrolet all other foreign company had to take a back step. But once again Chevrolet, the Indian face of General Motors tapped the Indian car market with a new name,' Chevrolet Sales India Pvt Ltd.'. At present the car manufacturer has a total of 10 models in hatchback, SUV and sedan segment. Chevrolet Tavera is one among the 3 SUV's launched by the company in the Indian market. Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 as the name suggests is the third generation Tavera and was introduced in the year 2012. This car at present is available in 21 different variants all with diesel engine's. Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LS 7 Seats is the mid range variant of the Tavera model. This 7 seater model is blessed with a 2.0L TCDi diesel engine of 1944cc with the power of 105.3bhp @ 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 263.7Nm @ 1700-2500 rpm. If we talk about the comfort and convenience in the car, then it is very well furnished with the needs of passenger. The SUV comes with the power windows in front as well as rear, remote fuel lid opener and many other features. The safety features in the car include disc brakes, fog lamps, front and rear seatbelts . The front and side impact beams avoid any injure in case of collision. The Infotainment section includes the 1 DIN audio system with AUX-in which gives an awesome music experience to the passengers.

Exterior

The exterior looking of the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LS 7 Seats is a touch sporty with a few styling touches, one of those is the dual colour amalgamation at the side. The front of the car has a rectangular shaped headlamps with curvy indicators that extend to the side. The hexagonal grille at the front is divided into two parts by the big Chevrolet emblem on the body coloured strip. There are large front and rear bumpers that give this car a robust look. The front bumper has been blessed with circular fog lamps surrounded with the chrome strip that provides a safe driving during extreme weather conditions. The dimensions of the car are as follows, 4435mm x 1765mm x 1680mm (length x width x height). It has a ground clearance of 170mm and a wheelbase of 2685mm.

Interior

The interior of the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LS 7 Seats is quite impressive and and comfortable. The major attraction of this new facelift is the dual tone colour and beige finish to give the passengers a luxurious and soothing feel. The dual tone dashboard is accompanied with a new instrumentation panel and a all new multi function steering wheel. The powerful air conditioning system with large AC vents effectively cools the car during the extremely hot summers . The seats are quite comfortable with fabric upholstery to make it look more appealing. The instrument cluster in the new Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 has taken clues from a premium sedan and the icy blue illumination along with night mode, further enhances the entire style of the front cabin . The diamond shaped fabric inserts on door trim looks amazing in the new MUV.

Engine Performance

Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LS 7 Seats is blessed with a 2.0L TCDi engine with with turbocharger to improve the engine efficiency. It has an in-Line fuel Supply system with 4 cylinders and 2 valves per cylinder . The engine is capable enough to produce a maximum power of 105.3bhp @ 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 263.7Nm @ 1700-2500 rpm. This diesel engine can take the car from 0-100kmph in 22.3 seconds and can touch a top speed of 138kmph . The mileage produced by the car is 9.1kmpl on the city roads and 12.2 kmpl on the highways . it further improved by the 5 speed manual transmission with gas filled shock absorbers.

Braking and Handling

For effective braking the car has in it ventilated disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear . The Multifunction steering wheel allows easy control of the SUV and allows you to operate the music system from the steering. The five speed manual gearbox is very easy to handle. The overdrive option in the car is used to reduce the power required to maintain the driving speed in specific range thus helping in reducing the fuel consumption, engine noise and engine wear. Synchronized gears with the Single plate diaphragm clutch allows you a very easy and comfortable driving.

As this is a mid range SUV so it does not have all the new and advanced safety features, but it still has the standard safety features like Child safety locks, Day and night rear view mirror, passenger side rear view mirror, halogen headlamps, rear seatbelts, side and front impact beams, adjustable seats and centrally mounted fuel tank .

Space is one of the main features of the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LS 7 Seats, it provides enough legroom, headroom and shoulder room both in the front and the rear cabins. There are also foldable seats for creating huge space for carrying luggage.
