A6 2011-2015 2.0 TFSI Premium Review
The A6 is an executive car from the German auto giant Audi. The model was released in 1994, and is currently in its fourth generation. The vehicle has seen good responses over the years from across the globe. It is manufactured in the company's production plant in Neckarsulm, Germany, from which it is sent to countries across the world. The Audi A6 2.0 TFSI Premium is one of the significant variants among other trims offered in the model series. For this variant, there is a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine fitted under its hood. The manufacturer has gifted it superior braking and suspension arrangements, along with a host of safety features that ensure that its performance is aided by control and security. As for the looks of the vehicle, it carries a streamlined, graceful posture that adds to its appeal and also helps in building speed. The cabin of the vehicle is suited to provide both luxury and comfort. The seats are comfortable in arrangement, and covered with fine upholstery. Meanwhile, a range of impressive design elements and materials together decorate the cabin.
Exteriors:
The front section of the vehicle carries a single frame grille with geometrically designed horizontal struts. A high gloss black color further emphasizes the appearance of the grille. Flanking this are stylishly designed headlamps that are incorporated with Xenon plus light units with separate DRLs. In addition to this, the headlamps clusters are gifted with an auto headlight range adjustment feature and washers for the best visibility condition always. The car's side profile is impressed by the streamlined body format, which adds to its speed capacity as well. The side window frames are in black in color. Below the window frames, lateral tornado lines extend from the headlights to the rear end, dressing the vehicle in a more powerful look. This is further enhanced by the 17 inch forged aluminum alloy wheels that have a 6 arm design. The exteriors mirrors are of body color, blending into the overall look. The rear section of the vehicle is more well toned. The tail lights are incorporated with LED units and turn indicators for optimum safety function. The overall dimensions of the vehicle strike a harmonious poise. It stretches for a length of 4915mm altogether. Including its outside mirrors, it has a width of 2086mm and the height is at 1455mm. Interiors:
The cabin is suited for both stylish design aspects and passenger oriented comfort functions. The seats are comfortably placed, with rich leather upholstery. Furthermore, inlays in reflex paint decorate the cabin, improving the plush atmosphere. The door sill trims carry aluminum inlays, giving added beauty. The driver gets the benefit of a 4 spoke multi-function steering wheel, covered in leather. There are headrests for all of the seats, offering support to the passengers' heads and necks. For the front passengers' convenience, there is a center armrest. The cabin environment is refined with the help of air vents spread over the front and at the back of the center armrest as well. The instrument cluster is attractively designed, and hosts a range of impressive comfort functions.
Engine and Performance:
Powering the vehicle is a 2.0-litre TSFI engine petrol engine that is integrated with a turbocharger. The drivetrain has four cylinders, incorporated together, with four valves per cylinder. Altogether, it can displace 1984cc. Further, it can generate a power of 180hp and a peak torque of 320Nm. The engine is coupled with an 8 speed multitronic transmission for flawless shifting.
Braking and Handling:
Firstly, there are ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear for efficient handling. In addition to this, the rear brakes are present with an electromechanical parking brake. An adaptive air based suspension system offers stable handling and ride comfort. The electronically controlled air suspension arrangement includes an infinitely variable adaptive damping system on all four wheels. This system allows for automatic regulation of the vehicle's ride height and damping.
Comfort Features:
The passengers' entertainment needs are fulfilled with the standard Audi sound system. This is present with a 6 channel amplifier function along with 10 loudspeakers for optimum sound quality. Furthermore, an Audi music interface is housed in the center console. This allows for connecting Apple iPods and USB storage device as well. A highlight of the cabin is the driver information display that offers vital information regarding the drive. It goes hand in hand with a 7 inch high resolution color display for added comfort value. Beside all of this, the cabin houses a Bluetooth interface for enhanced entertainment quality. This facility allows passengers to stream music through their Bluetooth enabled phones, and also allows call hosting within the car. The driver's seat with memory function and a 4-way lumbar support further improves the driver's ride quality. Meanwhile, both front seats come with electrically adjustable facilities, adding to the convenience of the front row passengers. A 4-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning system enhances the cabin's environment and provides sound cooling. There is a parking aid plus feature, which assists the driver when reversing and parking. The car provides an electrical sunblind for the rear window, along with manual sunblinds for the rear door windows.
Safety Features:
Full sized airbags are present for both front passengers, with a 2 stage deployment function. Side airbags, integrated into the front seats further enhance protection for the front passengers. The seats have an integral head restraint system, which provides support to the passengers in case of a rear end collision. Beside this, there are 3-point inertia reel seat belts for all seats that are integrated with a belt force limiter function, a belt height adjustment function and pyrotechnic belt tensioners for utmost security at all times. The front seats have a seat belt reminder feature that includes an acoustic and visual warning system. Beside all of this, the machine carries a resilient lightweight aluminum hybrid construction that is fully-galvanized in specific areas that suffer risk of corrosion. Child proof locks on the rear door provide attention to the safety needs of children. Anti lock braking system prevents loss of control when braking and cornering. This goes along with the electronic brakeforce distribution function and a hydraulic brake assist. An electronic differential lock prevents hazards on slippery grounds. Coupling all of this together, the electronic stabilization control compares the data from all these systems and regulates the vehicle's drive for increased stability.
