Latest Update: Kia has revealed the specifications of the EV5 electric SUV.
Launch: It is expected to be launched by January 2025.
Price: It is expected to be priced from Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Seating Capacity: It is a 5-seater electric SUV.
Battery Pack & Motor: Kia will offer the EV5 with two battery pack options: 64kWh and 88kWh. The former will be mated to a 217PS electric motor with an estimated range of 530km. The latter will come with two powertrain options: a 217PS single electric motor with an expected range of 720km, and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual motor version (217PS front and 95PS rear) with 650km range.
The EV5 can be charged from 30 to 100 percent in 27 minutes with a superfast DC charger.
Features: Features on board the EV5 include 12.3-inch dual-integrated displays, a 5-inch climate control panel, 3-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G).
Safety: On the safety front, it gets seven airbags and a full suite of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) features including lane keep assist, lane departure warning, parking assist, adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking.
Rivals: The EV5 will be a rival to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and will be placed under the Kia EV6.
