Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car manufacturer recently revealed its plans to scale-up its units of production by at least 70,000 units. This recent step is in reciprocation to the growing demand as quoted by the top-officials from the company.

In a recent declaration from the company officials, the managing executive officer of Maruti Suzuki said that they are trying to eliminate wasteful operations that are consuming efficient human resources in the manufacturing plants of the company. This in turn would help elevate production levels of the employees.

The current production capacity of the Manesar plant would be expanded to 2, 50,000 by the year 2012. Maruti Swift, Swift dzire and many of the hot-selling brands of the company are witnessing long-waiting lists of car buyers. According to the industry reports there would be an increase of 10 to 12 percent in this fiscal.

Maruti Suzuki, had crossed the one-million production mark last year, but would have to increase the production capacity by at least a lakh to meet the growing demand.

The production plants of the company however are already working with 100 percent capacity utilisation. The two plants of Maruti Suzuki in Gurgaon and Manesar together have a production capacity of 800,000 cars.

This expansion is surely going to help Maruti Suzuki keep pace with the growing demands of the buyers in the ever-increasing Indian car market.
