Kia Motors launches K9 in the Korean Market

South Korean’s second largest carmaker has rolled out its all new Kia K9 luxury saloon in the domestic car market. Kia K9 saloon is built on the tested and tried platform of  the bestseller Genesis, with which the saloon shared powertrain and propulsion; the proportions of the saloon are 5.09 mx 1.90 mx 1.49 m with the wheel base of 3045m. The RWD executive cruiser will later on be exported to Europe in the latter half of 2012. Kia K9 is rolled out in the market with 3.8 L V6 MPI 290 hp powertrain, another engine namely the 3.8 L GDI in its 334 hp is going find its way in the car by early 2013.

The 3.8L GDI and 3.8L V6  engines will be involved in the new South Korean BVA8 group. The range could further grow by a 4.6 L V8 engine as the Genesis, however the carmaker has not confirmed it yet. The luxury saloon comes with a huge wheelbase inspired from the German executive saloons, the Kia K9 car comes with features like LED adaptive headlamps , Lane departure warning system(LDWS), radar based blind spot detection(BSD) , a massive audio system-the 17 speaker Lexicon sound system, Smart Cruise control to smoothen your drive and an Around-View Monitor with four cameras to cover all sides.

K9 is all about panache, simplicity, symmetrical proportions and smooth simple surfaces; the car offers class leading wheel base, large wheels, an all-encompassing shoulder line and sharply upright short overhangs that all come together in harmony to give the K9 sporty, nimble proportions and a confident status-quo archetypal to class-leading chauffeur driven vehicle. K9 is built to deliver a pack of punches to the European Luxury brands, the car is not actually meant for the home ground. Kia is going to refine the car in accordance with the class it is meant for; in order to do so the company is going to enhance the safety equipment as well as the finish and comfort of the car.
