As of now, the new Endeavour can effortlessly outsell almost anything breathing in the premium SUV segment with its engines, transmissions, features, safety and of course, off-road ability!

Usually, the next-gen models fulfill the shortcomings of the previous ones, while retaining good parts. Sometimes it is difficult to comprehend how advance the replacement of an outgoing model would be. This is the same case with the new 2016 Ford Endeavour. The new Endeavour is like the 10th generation of the vehicle it will be replacing, though those nine generations never materialised! Here are the five points which set the new Endeavour apart from the premium SUV segment!

5-Cylinder Diesel Engine

The new 3.2-liter diesel has five cylinders. It is a segment first! The engine offers tonnes of torque and comes mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The new Endy will simply wilt almost anything from its segment which comes in the way with its 470 Nm of max torque from this oil burner.

800 mm Water Wading

It comes with a colossal 800 mm water wading capacity which is 200 mm more than the Land Rover Discovery Sport. It sits 225 mm above the ground on 265/60 R18 wheels. Now let us talk about some off-roading terms, it offers an approach angle of 30 degrees, a departure angle of 25 degrees and a ramp-over angle of 21 degrees.

Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist

The Endeavour comes with a parallel parking aid. It comes extremely handy as you don’t have to steer it around to park! All you need to do is press the button, the vehicle will analyse the parking spot and then you’ll just have to manage brake and accelerator, while it will steer its way into the spot on its own.

Terrain Management System

Ford Endeavour comes with segment first Terrain Management System, which lets you select the tarmac you are traveling upon to alter the vehicle’s characteristics. Ford Endeavour’s system offers Sand, Snow, Mud and Rock modes to choose from.

Oodles of Comfort and Safety

Starting with the safety, Ford Endeavour offers class leading 7 airbags, including driver’s knee airbag. It also comes with a lot of safety features as standard like dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Ford MyKey, Ford’s Emergency Assistance.

In terms of comfort level, the Endeavour is a whole new territory when compared to the previous Endy. To start with, you get things like active noise cancellation which makes the cabin relatively silent. The pampering is totally on a different level compared to this segment, it also comes with a massive panoramic sunroof, power foldable 3rd-row seats, power tailgate, 8-inch Ford’s SYNC 2 touchscreen unit, digital+analog display and a lot more!
