‘A vision of the future that Mazda hopes to one day make into reality’. This is what Mazda has to say about its RX-Vision while unveiling it in Tokyo. Reviving the Rotary engines from the dead, this sports concept features a triangular rotor which generates power through the rotational motion. The production for this engine was stopped a long time ago but Mazda claims that they never stopped their R&D in the subject. It seems that they have been successful as the latest generation rotary mills are called SKYACTIV-R and are expected to be employed in Mazda’s future sports cars. Following the RX-7 and RX-8, RX-Vision takes the rotary engine legacy forward. The car has a front engine, rear wheel drive setup and houses the SKYACTIV-R motor.

Automaker Mazda is all-set with a range of 14 cars, which they will showcase at the Tokyo Motor Show starting from 29th October this year. The show will be a 10-day affair and will last upto 8th November. Apart from showcasing its much awaited vehicle, “Mazda Sports Coupe Concept”, carmaker will also display the recently launched Mazda Koeru concept along with two units of racing-spec Mazda MX-5 Miata and Cosmo Sport.

Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Motor Corporation have combined forces to leverage resources and complement each other’s core competencies. Both companies will benefit in terms of products and technologies. This partnership will be meeting the changing demands and tastes of customers all across the globe. Overseeing the proceedings, a joint committee will be setting up that will evaluate methods and processes used in both the companies and help utilise them to their benefits. The committee will encourage broad and meaningful collaboration across a range of fields, including environmental and advanced safety technologies.

Mazda revealed the fourth generation of the world most famous roadster - Miata/ MX-5 in September last year and is already on sale globally. Now, at the next week’s New York International Auto Show, the Japanese automaker is debuting a hotter version of it - MX-5 Miata Club Edition.
