2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: What’s New, What’s Still Great

Taigun is my 3rd vehicle from VW after a Vento and Polo. I have driven 70K plus KM in the earlier two models and 20K miles in Taigun. I love VW so much that I decided not to dispose the Vento and Polo and i'm still using all three. Cospared to the experience I had with the other two modelse Taigun has not lived up to it. Main reasons being. 1. Low torque or pulling power compared even to Polo. 2. Very low mileage in city. 10 km if trafgic free & 6 to 7 km in case of traffic. 3. My Taigun has just completed 1 year and touching 20 K kilometers. Two days back while driving in the city suddenly the clutch failed in the middle of morning traffic. Expereiencing such failure within one year and less than 20K km is a nightmare. My love for VW has taken a beating. Understand that there have been many complaints of clutch failure in Taigun.

I got 21+ mileage on highway at 100 speed, total control even the speed at 198, i change brake shoe at 90,000 km, very comfortable and reliable, very good support from workshops, showroom and company, no issue found with warranty on time, repair very genuine, spare parts skilled mechanic in workshops and  caring staff.

Got my VW Taigun 8 months ago and was expecting good experience from a german brand, I've driven 5500KW & to my surprise the brake pads are worn out. The service center tells me its because of bad driving, I have a Hundai I20 & a Suzuki swift and have never faced such problem. If my driving was bad it would have been on those vehicles also + in Bangalore city how bad can someone drive. We rearly get a chance to go beyond 50-60. Dissapointing.

Value of money vehicle almost every kind of features, safety and comfort is getting from base version also a legacy of volkswagen is attached to this vehicle. There are several mid size suv available in market but my advice to buyers who are looking for a good value of money mid size suv then this is a good option.

Another thing which I really liked is the premium look of the car. The cabin quality, seating comfort and overall fit finish is pretty decent for the segment. Some newer cars may offer more features but they still dont give that mature and solid feel this car gives. Mileage is also decent according to the performance it offers. Maintenance also isn't too bad if the car is maintained. Overall I would rate this car around 4.2 stars because it still manages to offer strong performance, premium looks and decent mileage together even after being an older generation model.
