Maruti Swift comes in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant of the car is comes equipped with a K series 1.2-litre VVT powermill. The 1.2 litre engine has a displacement of 1197 cc. The finely tuned engine churns out a maximum power output of 86bhp at 6000rpm and a torque output of 114Nm at 4000rpm.
On the other hand, the diesel car model houses a 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine with DDiS (Direct Diesel Injection System) with a displacement of 1248 cc. The 1.3-litre DDiS engine comes equipped with inter-cooler fixed geometry turbo charger for better efficiency and power output. The maximum power and maximum torque figures of the Swift diesel are 74bhp at 4000rpm and 190Nm at 1900rpm, respectively. The new technology guarantees maximum fuel consumption, engine performance and lesser emissions thereby increasing acceleration.
Both petrol and diesel version of the car come coupled with a five speed manual transmission gearbox as standard. All variants of the car are compatible with the new generation BS-IV emission norms.
