Skoda discount offers blend well with festive mood

Skoda India has open-heartedly offered Diwali discounts to lure customers this festive season. Select models of Skoda Laura sedan, Skoda Fabia hatchback and Skoda Yeti have got straight cash discounts on their purchases. Probable buyers will have to hurry up a bit as the offer is valid only till October 31st. All the models which have undergone a price cut are petrol variants. This is done so as to ramp up the sluggish sales of petrol variants of Skoda cars owing to hike in petrol price.

Talking about the sedan, the two base variants of Skoda Laura i.e. Skoda Laura Active gets Rs 1,00,000 straight cash discount and Skoda Laura Ambition gets a price slash of Rs 60,000 now. This would make a better choice over Honda Civic which will cost Rs 1.5 lakh more than Skoda Laura. Since both the sedans are evenly matched on specifications, the price cut puts Skoda Laura well ahead. The higher-end Skoda Laura 1.8 TSI Ambiente priced at Rs. 13.48 lakh is available for Rs. 12 lakh. The car is fully-loaded with every conceivable feature in this class except cruise control. And yet, it too will cost about Rs. 50,000 less than base Honda Civic 1.8 S MT.

Now, taking into account, Skoda Fabia, the hatchback has witnessed discounts from Rs 28,700 to Rs 61,700. Skoda’s 105-BHP hot hatch Skoda Fabia 1.6 MPI Elegance gets a lofty discount of Rs. 61,700 bringing the price down to Rs. 5.5 lakh. In this price, it certainly enjoys better position compared to competitors. The Skoda Fabia 1.2 MPI Elegance is now available for just Rs. 5.25 lakh—again a pretty good offer for car that’s fully loaded and includes safety features such as 2 Airbags, ABS and EBD. Again, mid-level Skoda Fabia 1.2 MPI Ambiente gets discounted by Rs. 44,700 bringing down its price to Rs. 4.54 lakh which takes it to quite an affordable price. However, it does not become as value-for-money car as Ford Figo Petrol Titanium priced at Rs. 4.67 lakh.

Ford is absolutely loaded and well worth the extra Rs. 13,000. The base variant has also joined the fleet of discounts as Skoda Fabia 1.2 MPI Classic sees its price reduced by Rs. 28,700 and brought down to about Rs. 4.15 lakh making it a mighty good alternative to Ford Figo Petrol ZXI priced at Rs. 4.29 lakh. Even small SUV, Skoda Yeti gets a hefty Rs. 75,000 off but since there are reports that a cheaper version is round the corner, takes away the sheen off the deal.
