Porsche Macan SUV unveiled at LA Motor Show

Porsche, the German luxury carmaker has unveiled the all-new Macan SUV at the LA Motor Show. It is the company's second SUV and looks like a smaller version of Cayenne SUV. It is also the Porsche's cheapest ever product, and has helped the company to smoothly shifts from niche to luxury carmaker.

The Macan SUV will be made available in three versions- Macan Turbo, Macan S and Macan Diesel S. Technical highlights include Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive and the Porsche PDK double-clutch transmission fitted as standard. The body conceals highly efficient six-cylinder engines, which provide powerful propulsion while achieving favourable fuel consumption figures.

The Macan S is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo engine that churns out a maximum power output of 340bhp, and can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in mere 5.2 seconds. The Turbo model gets 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo engine producing 400bhp and sprints to 100kmph from zero in just 4.8 seconds. The diesel model house a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that develops 258bhp. It takes 6.3 seconds to reach 100kmph from stand still.
