Nissan and Datsun models to get pricier from next year

Nissan India has announced a price increase across its entire product range currently available in the country. Effective from January 1, 2015, the hike also covers the Datsun sub-brand's only offering- Go hatchback.

The prices of Nissan models will be increased by 2.5 percent upto INR 18,000, while Datsun Go's price will be up by 3 percent at INR 11,000. The Indian product portfolio of the Japanese car manufacturer comprises of the Micra Active and Micra hatchback, Sunny mid-size sedan, Evalia MPV, Terrano SUV, and GO hatchback under the Datsun sub-brand. 

Commenting on the price hike, Mr. Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd. said, “We have increased prices due to rising input costs, although we are confident Nissan and Datsun vehicles will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers. Despite recent high inflation, the outlook for the Indian economy is positive.”

Datsun Go+ is the next in-line product to join the Nissan India range of vehicles. The company have already started manufacturing the Go-based MPV at their Oragadam facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Despite being a seven-seater MPV, the measures less than 4-meter, therefore it enjoys the excise benefits. To be retailed through Nissan dealerships across the country, the MPV will be offered with 4 variants namely D, A, T and T optional.
