Mercedes-Benz GLA Class Launched at Rs 32.75 Lakh

Mercedes Benz India has launched its first compact SUV crossover- Mercedes Benz GLA at Rs 32.75 lakh for GLA 200 CDI while the GLA 200 Sport Petrol is priced at Rs 36 lakh and GLA 200 CDI Sport at Rs 36.9 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Based on Mercedes MFA platform, the GLA-Class is pitched against the likes of BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo V40. The compact SUV features sporty crossover traits with low slung roof and high riding drive. 

The front profile gets dual-slat grill with three-pointed star logo embarked in center along with wrap-around Bi-Xenon headlamps and LED day-time running lights. Both the bumpers look chunk and feature matte aluminum finish to give GLA a distinctive character

Inside the cabin, the GLA Class gets electrically adjusted seats with lumbar support. The SUV also gets ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, panoramic sunroof and Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround system with 12 speaker 450 Watt having Bluetooth and USB connectivity.  In the safety compartment, the SUV gets 5 star NCAP rating with seven airbags. 

Mechanically, GLA is powered by both turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The GLA 200 features a turbocharged petrol that churns a max output of 178.5bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. The diesel, on the other hand is a 2143cc turbo diesel that belts out 132.2bhp while the torque stands tall and equivalent to its petrol counterpart at 300Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. Mercedes Benz claims 17. km/l certified fuel economy for GLA diesel which makes it most fuel efficient SUV among its rivals.
