Maruti Suzuki Records 85.46% Growth in Oct 2012; Dzire and Ertiga in Demand

India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India has today reported 85.46% growth in total sales at 1,03,108 units during October as compared to last year's 55,595 units in the similar month. Out of which domestic sales alone stood at 96,002 units, recording a rise of 85.56%, while exports inspected a growth of 71.77% at 7,106 units as compared to the October 2011's 4,137 units.

If we talk about total passenger car sales in India alone, it grew by 93.8% to 79,811 total sold units from last year's 41,192 in the same month. All the segments have done well in October be it the Mini passenger (M800, Alto, A-Star, WagonR), Compact Passenger (Swift, Estilo, Ritz), Super compact (Dzire), Mid-Size Passenger (SX4) or Executive Passenger (Kizashi), but the compact Sedan which saw a fall in its sales previously due to Manesar lock-out, has come back with a bang, it recorded a three-fold growth in October. A total 14,389 Dzire models were sold as compared to the last year October's 5,001 units.

On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki SX4 which was struggling hard to sale in numbers, as well increased over two-fold to 695 units in October from 320 units in October 2011. The Luxury sedan, Maruti Suzuki Kizashi also saw a rise in October, a total 35 units were sold last month over last year's 3 units during the same period.
