Mahindra Thar launched today

It doesnt have Air conditioning available, whereas M&M says its AC ready that means you can retro fit an aftermarket AC, i assume it doesnt have power windows aswell,the only welcome change is that of power steering.

If really A.C. is not there,it will be very awckward thing which had done by Mahindra

SAME SHIT- DIFFERENT DIA. What else people could comment about this product? I think M&M is in reverse gear now. Please understand that we can alter a secondhand Maheendra Jeep into THAR by spending less than Rs.75000/- rather than throwing Rs 600000/-.

Great! A vechile which we at Kerala state had been looking forward to....., frankly, we really need a rough and tough Bull dozer like this to survive in Kerala where we have no roads to drive, since, jokes aside, we have to drive IN and OUT of Potholes which are bigger than the Car itself. However, I am rather disappointed to note that this SUV do not have an A/c and wonder whether we can fix one into this machine, like we did for the Amby during her golden days..!! this is vehicle looks very nice but the price was not suppose to be 4.4 lakhs because no power windows ,A/c, etc and one more thing we can purchase 2nd hand mahindra jeep for 75000 and spend 1lakh on it your vehicle looks much more better than THAR

It is good that we are getting a 4x4 offroader at that price. I wish that some tour and rental operators will take fancy of this vehicle and starting renting it out to the enthusiasts willing to take a offroad trip to the roads less travelled or the mighty Himalayas. Don't have the money to buy it, especially it doesn't have the city use, but would like to rent it one day to take a trip to Leh.

The latest version of Mahindra Thar is not meeting the World standard of design and facilities.You make kindly ask the designer to look in to various foreign vehicle web-sites,you need not travel abroad.All he needs to do make an effort look-in various vehicle web sites only bse so many multinational company's vehicles launched in India

Really disappointing. AC is must! Mr. Desiner @ mahindra :: SIR... its 21st century! i guess u havnt heard abt Global warming!! lol.... Get a new version with all features asap to capture market, its not a military only vehicle now!!

Mahindra is still 20 year back.I appreciate th offroad capabilities.But a piece of junk with no AC,no pull out handles,no power windows.Iam a Keralite and I hate this 25 year old junk.

Guy's... Why do you need an A/C, Power Windows for... Understand the concept... You are not gonna take this Vehicle to Office / Weddings, right... Go off road... A/c must in an open vehicle..!! You all have gone nuts.. :P

The jeep likes as old model.Come with new looking as of the foreign jeeps.Every model sholuld not be the same looking.We need change in living and change in wandering.So keep it up.Best luck for the next time. Raj

Great.Stylish,good looking - for teenagers.Good without AC because it is for off roads driving only (good with natural AC).Indian company thing of these type of jeeps at this time is great.Mahindra will takes Risk always.Wish M&M all the best and have a great sucess Be Indian & Buy Indian

Well to go by I would surely like the vehicle for the use it is intended, off road driving needs no AC, and if u do use AC in such situation u burn ur tank.... Accepted this is a tweaked version of MM540, but if u have seen a customised MM540 u wud surely take Thar. But a little addition like front looking rear seats (company fitted) would be appreciated. plus pls put a hard top and AC for those who cant take a little dust n heat...and a rear door with some flab so as to keep open and mount ur bicylce on it wud be too good, a-la the Skoda outdoor prototype shown in AutoExpo Delhi-06. the pricing is good below 4.5 lakh. jus for the AFICIONADO

abe sab pagal ho rahe ho! AC power windows chahiyein toh TATA NE NANO BANA RAKHI HAI NA KHARID LO this is answer to US' hummer and general motor's land rover WHICH COST MORE THAN Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 crore respectively in just approx Rs 5 lakh

I can only say Mahindra Thar CRDe is a good one who really love to drive Jeep.Why people talk about A/C,Power windows and etc.If you are a man drive the tough ones in your life.

The interior should be more sofisticated & A/C must be there in this car of this much of price tag.

M&M is continiously putting tiger skin over the sheep over years! A willy's jeep taking newer names but the same stuff at all times.

I don't understand ....What M&M is planing????this is the same old jeep seen earlier..nothing much to talk about the thar!!!! for sure it won't be a good choice for india's hot climate.....there r no features(even basic, i would say) in this car... i don't think it will be a hotseller...because these days , there r a lot of suv's and jeeps which offer car like comfort and true off road...trust me!!

Come on friends it's a off-roader Jeep for adventure. So don't cry for an AC. If Mahindra is not providing AC in THAR then it is good, if fact according to me power assisted steering is also not required and in-fact an off-road vehicle must not have a power steering. All these luxuries consume vehicle power which is not a good sign for off-road Jeep. Of course I would prefer the Disc breaks and that should be provided for front as well as the rear wheels. Hydraulic clutch is good. 5 Speed gear box is very good. Over and above for an off-road vehicle we don't want automatic 4X4 transmission like ENDEAVOR. Jeep must have most of the things manual. I would prefer if it is fitted with WINCH from the company itself. Friends if you are looking for luxury go for Scorpio, Safari, Aria etc... People who are driving luxury cars please stay at a distance from THAR. YES OF-COURSE PUNJAB THEE JAT who are driving WILLYS-CJ, GYPSY-King, Mahindra Classic, Army MM-540, JONGA, Force-GURKHA believe me this is the X-MAS gift for us all. Regards

Actually What Mahindra had done is a great job and we shud appreciate this thing indeed,and other things we can put ourself,which we all are taking about they have left in it,,,one benifit which i feel is that we can register this vehical anywhere in india no hassel of going to other state for registration matter,,,and no police nig nags,,,about the documents..lets enjoy M&M Efforts. first i think the thar would be an excellent alternative to the gypsy... being a diesel engine... secondly, i think mahindra should have different variants available like ac/non ac , power window/non power windows, hard top/ soft top,fog lamps , even factory fitted winches during bookings or pre order....that ways it would satisfy all customers... maybe it'll make maruti suzuki take notice and bring out an improved gypsy with the K series engine in both petrol and diesel variants... that would be a lotta fun...
