Honda that revealed its 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine at this year's Geneva Motor Show has fitted the similar engine in its Europe bound Honda Civic Hatchback, which is making its debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The all new engine is capable of churning out the maximum of 118bhp at 4000rpm and 300Nm of torque at 2000rpm. The auto giant hasn't revealed the mileage figures yet, but it is expected to return an impressive 27.76kmpl of mileage with CO2 emission of only 94g/km.

However nothing on its Indian launch has been confirmed, but we expect the tweaked version of the similar engine to be fitted in the India bound Honda Civic, which is expected to come by 2013.

Honda Cars India which has been facing a tough time due to the lack of diesel variants in its portfolio, has been said to be launching its popular Brio in diesel by early next year and later on other vehicles will get the diesel heart, so we expect the Civic and Accord both coming in the diesel variants.

Stay tuned for more updates on Honda diesel cars. Cheers!
