Chevrolet Spark bags Top J D Power Award for Quality in 2010

With an out standing performance, Chevrolet Spark grabbed the top award for quality for the fourth time in a row. This prestigious award is an initiative by J.D Power Asia Pacific 2010 announcing India Automotive Initial Quality Study. Chevrolet Spark from General Motor's stable is a real successful product in market with the big proof being winner of this award for four consecutive years. This shows the commitment of the company towards supplying the most sophisticated technology with high performance in market.

Among the compact car segment, Chevrolet Spark is able to grab the top position despite the tough competition prevailing in market. The studies conducted by JD Power are like benchmarks for the upcoming companies to measure the quality of their products. Balendran who is the Vice-President of General Motors India commented that Chevrolet Spark winning the prestigious title for the fourth time in a row indicates that it is the most preferred car in Indian markets in terms of quality and durability. He also added that company will take all possible steps to maintain this performance and keep its customers satisfied to the maximum.

The JD Power India IQS study, measured at two to six months of ownership serves as the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality. They make thorough study by considering 200 problem symptoms for eight vehicle segments. The analysis is made on the basis of both design quality and production quality with unit as problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). Now in this unit is score is high means the model shows low performance compared to other models in same segment whereas low score is preferable. 2010 is the fourteenth year of India Initial Quality Study and its studies are based on more than 7,000 owners who purchased their vehicle between November 2009 and July 2010. this year 57 vehicles were under study 20 cities across India fielded from May to September.
