BMW 5-Series Recalled Over Minor Issue

Following the series of recalls, BMW has also issued a recall of its 5-Series sedan. Though the issue does not hamper with the drivability of the car in any way but is regarding the child seat anchor system. As of now, the recall is issued in North America for about 7,162 units including 528i, 535d, 535i, 550i, and M5. In India, only the BMW 530d and M5 models are available however no communication has been made indicating a fault in these models here. The affected models have a bent inboard lower anchor on the left rear side which holds the child seat. This may result in improper anchor of the seat which fails the US motor safety norms. BMW dealers are instructed to start repairs from December 24th onwards and it will be free of cost.

Earlier this week, Ford India has also issued a recall of 16,444 EcoSports. The issue with the recalled vehicle was pertaining to Rear Twist Beam bolt which may not have been tightened properly and may cause the pivot bolt to break and could result in the driver losing control of the car and a possible mishap.
