French car manufacturer Renault which few days back announced its plans of restructuring its JV(Joint venture) with India's largest SUV manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra, now is planning to launch its one of its kind Renault Twizy model in Indian market. Launch of Renault Twizy is a part of Renault exercise of launching a Zero emission car in India. Renault Twizy ZE concept was showcased at Delhi auto expo where it attracted a large number of visitors because of its new concept and unique design. It's basically a two-seater model built on a four-wheeler chassis. The model can accommodate a driver (front) and a passenger (rear) comfortably. The Renault Twizy ZE runs on a fully electric technology provides zero-emission level.
View Full Detail »Renault India, a unit of France base automobile manufacturer Renault, said on Tuesday that it is planning to establish its own distribution network in the country as company is looking to restructure its JV with Mahindra & Mahindra. Company will start the process with establishment of 15 dealerships within next 12 to 18 months that will be increased to 150 dealerships in coming 30 months, said March Nassif, Renault’s India head.

Akira Sakurai chief executive and managing director at the launch of Nissan Motor dealership commented that the result of the first production trial was good. They would start rolling out the cars in May. More than 30 units were produced in the first trial and the trial production of power train is on.

The new victim of global slowdown is Renault, French auto major. The company official told to a news agency that it put on hold indefinitely its plans to launch cars in the Indian market from the upcoming Chenni plant. Now the company is looking forward to improve market. However, Nissan, the other partner of the company, is determined to roll out its cars as scheduled in 2010.Renault already stopped hiring for production activities in its Chennai plant. A Renault India spokesman said that they had left their product plan at such a stage that whenever they want to restart it, in no time they could ramp up the production.
French car maker Renault is now planning to launch its famous Sandero model in India soon. The car will be launched in the partnership of Mahindra & Mahindra and French auto manufacturer Renault. Both the companies were together in the launching of Mahindra Renault Logan and the car gained good popularity among buyers.
