Look and Style: External look great. Interior- not satisfactoryfrom Toyota image. However, the dash board placement is not that bad as it was thought to be. Rather, the driver can watch the control panel much better than the conventional style. Comfort: Driving comfort is ok but seating comfort is not up to the mark. Toyota group must look into it. Pickup: Above 70 km/hr is reasonable but initial pickup is less than Swift. But, above 100 kmph speed- the pick up is smooth till 125 kmph.  Mileage in City is around 8-9km/lit. It is obvious that hardly one can drive in 5th gear in the city. But, in Highway, the milage is superb. I got around 17.5 km/lit after taking a long drive of around 439 km putting 25 lit of normal unleaded petrol. Most of the time the speed was around 80-100 km/hr. In few occasion the speed was around 110-120km/hr. Best Features: The get up of the car is decent. The driving experience is also pleasant. Leg space is also great. Needs to improve: Seat style, Interior, in-built Sound system. To me, the most important factor is to redesign the Engine mounting. Due some unknown reason (? engine mounting??) Engine vibration is felt always during start & stop. But, during ride, that vibration is never felt. Overall Experience- is reasonably good in view of the low priced factor of this car. All car specialitists should agree that a little bit of higher price might change the entire getup and excellence of the car.

In present time, practically, how often one can drive about 50-60 km/hr in a city. City like kolkata, hardly one get a road/traffic to drive in standard speed. This might be the case for all sedan in a metro city. I wz told that the fuel economy of most of the sedans in a city is around 8-9 km/lit. Experts can tell better.

In Etios G model, The CD player not available, However desire porvide the same in VXI madel even price are both almost same. The dash board also not look good, I think these two place tyota needs to works.

The CD player Toyota is fixing is most ordinary one. the system is lack of many features which is commonly seen in any standard car in recent time. I would suggest to fix it from outside since many advanced sound systems are available in the market.

Yes you are right. I tried many music system for etios but the space provided for music system is such odd size that no other standard comapny's music system can be fitted exactly and some space is left out, which spoils the look of front interior. At last I ordered the company made brand (which they use for their higher model). However the sound is good but no advance features are available.

Hellow,I booked Etios V model but purchased model GS,noticing the diff. in price due to Diff in Taxes/parking & Features like Alloy wheels & Music system which you can buy of yr choice ( By the way I may mention that initially I booked MICRA & shifted to VENTO but cancelled it go for ETIOS, having seen its looks & TOYOTA Image , but finally landed to face utter disappointment from its Interiors , Dashbord looks -OK , but without a Microscope you can't locate Fuel meter & Fuel Reserve, while driving you shall not notice it altogether , whether it exists or not ,& HOW POORELY IT IS LIT ( Illuminated ) --Really sad , these LED's have hardly any cost less then a rupee each.Again Window swiches again not illuminated-How much does its wiring plus these 5-8 LED cost to Co Similarly AUTOMATIC UP/DOWN Glass facility MISSING ,& now a days who looks at cost-or rather tries to find Feautures . My mistake , I took Try during day & just got overlooked for it presuming that thes are now a days most common things . Coming to Comforts on front seats -- just OK , but while sitting at Rear --COLLECT YOUR OLD CHILDHOOD DAYS OF SITTING ON A SARKARI BENCH IN A PARK/ SCHOOL. Further , which car doesnt have a feature/ facility of pocketsat at the rear of front seats , -missing here again Reg Drive - yes OK ,satisfied , Managed to take over on NH-8 , best SKODA/BMW/ HONDA ACCORD , WITH FULL CONTROLS Average yet to be measured , only drove 240 Km Toyata must provide atleast carpeting on inside of DICKY , to reduce noise/ heat /dust Again to provide dual colour Uphostelary on seats , really isnt that costly --- I am saying all this , as I am a supplier to all Indian Automobiles/ Ancillaries & do understand all this -- and based upon my experince of nearly 40 plus years & around 9-10 lakhs of KM of Driving Maruti - all models almost , Skoda, Optra , Hyundai -Santro , Accent , I-20 , Honda- City & of course Ambassodor Best AC found in Accent Hyundai- but not the Engine - needed overhaul at 78000 KM , Maruti Van at 1,18,000 Km By the way best Accent average Delhi hardly 7-8 KM , but after 6 months of usage Service Mgr of Hyundai Mayapuri DEMONSTRATED IT TO 16.32 km , BY PRACTICALLY LOCKING THE SPEED AT 50 KM IN CANTT AREA IN 2001 ------- COMMENTS INVITED G L Khurana

All the points you have stated Mr Khurana is practical & true. I donot understand why you have shifted from VENTO once the budget permits. But, your choice of G-safety model is absolutely right. The night vision mirror is available in V model onward. Toyota Etios only provided Toyota LOGO to the owners. But, one must admit, driving comfort is fantastic. Owners of Etios- pl enjoy the driving comfort & be proud of external look & brand of the Car you are driving. I donot know, who of the owner will suggest his friend to buy this car??? Let us see the fate of Liva...

i am planning to buy one buy confussed after reading the comments and esp. by Mr.Khurana...Somehow i liked 1 car and again i am confused...please suggest a good car...I liked Manza also but interior finish is really sad...

    Rajarshi Banerjee |07 May,2011 12:35:05 PM

value for money is Swift Desire- no doubt about it. The minus point must be the Engine Capacity (but not power okay?)since a sedan must be 1400cc at least. Since Desire is having less Engine capacity one will get better milage. You may try the Diesel version of Desire. Capacity is more than Petrol variant & milegae is also better & also should have more resale value. But please ask the user of the Diesel version regarding the performance. I do not have idea.

You can do a comparo between Etios vs. other cars like Manza & D'zire. To me, Etios comes out as clear winner despite numerous missing features. This is because of superb fundamentals like effortless driving (combination of all-round visibility, smooth clutch, light yet precise steering, smooth gearshift, comfy seating position, excellent ergonomics), adequate power delivery under all conditions, planted ride quality, space everywhere, good fit & finish, and also Toyota Badge implying great long-term reliability. One can make the interiors livable with an aftermarket upholstery. In the end, pl. go for the car YOU like - based on your evaluation and elaborate test drives of the cars under consideration. This will certainly help in decision-making. Wishing you safe and happy driving.

Perusing of all the comments and answers I am became in great confusion for buying a ETIYOS VX.

    Rajarshi Banerjee |11 May,2011 06:45:03 PM

VX? I feel- not value for money. You will get extra feature viz. Steering control of sound system, DVD Player (CD player is enough for Sedan)& external side guard at bottom. Difference is around Rs50,000.00 against V. Seat cover colour is not coming into consideration since everybody fixes additiinal seat cover. Recast your idea-Boss
