XC60 2012-2025 D4 Momentum Review
Volvo has quietly launched the facelifted version of its best selling crossover Volvo XC60 in the Indian automobile market. Out of the three trim levels, this facelifted Volvo XC60 D4 Summum is the mid range variant, which is powered by the 2.4-litre, five cylinder based turbo diesel power plant that is incredible, powerful and fuel efficient as well. The company has updated the exterior styling and appearance of this crossover that makes it look refreshing in its segment. The front facade of this crossover received some major cosmetic updates in the form of a redesigned headlight cluster, re-treated front radiator grille and a trendy bumper that brought a sportier appeal to its front facade. The interior cabin also received some tweaks that further enhances the plush environment inside the cabin. As far as the technicalities are concerned, this crossover has been fitted with an improved engine that is reliable in terms of performance and mileage. On the other hand, the Swedish automaker has updated the features inside this crossover to enhance the conveniences, safety and overall driving experience. This crossover gets a new adaptive digital display console with three graphic modes that include Performance, Elegance and Eco. The multifunction steering wheel now has paddle shifters, which will convert the automatic transmission option to a manual gearbox.
Exteriors :
This all new Volvo XC60 D4 Summum, mid range trim is blessed with gen-next style exterior cosmetics that helped the company to obtain a contemporary look to this crossover. The company has updated the front facade of this crossover, wherein you can see the new headlight cluster that has been fitted with powerful lamps. The design of the radiator grille too received tweaks, which is now bigger in size and more expressive. The front bumper has been painted in body color and it has been designed with a newly styled air dam that adds a sporty appeal to the front facade. Coming to the side profile, this crossover's wheel arches have been fitted skillfully with 17 inch alloy wheels, while the doors have been decorated beautifully with body colored external mirrors and door handles. The rear profile of this crossover is extremely stylish and as impressive as its front fascia. The design of the rear bumper gets a tweak and it has been fitted with a protective cladding under it. The taillight cluster design is unique and it has been incorporated with powerful lamps and turn indicators . The rear windscreen is very large and it is accompanied with a wiper, while the boot lid has been beautified with a chrome garnished thick strip and company badging.
Interiors :
Inside the cabin, this facelifted Volvo XC60 D4 Summum mid range trim is blessed with a plush cabin environment and it is further enhanced by a few additional styling aspects. Inside the cabin there is an advanced adaptive digital TFT display console that comes with three graphic modes. This stylish instrument cluster is complimented by a three spoke power steering wheel that is further equipped with paddle shifters and several audio and call function buttons. This crossover comes with a seating arrangement for five members with a 2+3 arrangement. The seats have been covered with premium leather upholstery that keeps the occupants extremely comfortable. There are a number of utility based features incorporated inside this vehicle that include cup holders, glovebox comparment, a 12V power outlet , vanity mirror, storage compartment and several other such aspects. The company has indeed managed to update the cabin inside with a multifuntion steering accompanied with paddle shifters, while updating the design of instrument cluster.
Engine and Performance :
Coming to the engine specifications, the all new Volvo XC60 D4 Summum trim has been powered by a five cylinder, 2.4-litre turbo diesel power plant that is incredibly powerful and delivers top rated performance. This high performance engine has the ability to produce a displacement capacity of about 2400cc . This diesel power plant has the ability to produce a maximum power of about 163bhp at 4000rpm, while generating a peak torque of about 420Nm in between 1500rpm to 2500rpm. This engine has been skillfully fitted with an advanced 6-speed geartronic automatic transmission gearbox that sends the power to all four wheels of this crossover.
