Indigo eCS Emax CNG GLX Review
Tata Indigo is the flagship compact sedan model of the Indian car maker, Tata Motors. The company has rolled out the emax range variants in its model series that are powered by bi-fuel petrol and CNG fuel options. The Tata Indigo CS Emax CNG GLX is the top end variant in the series and it is blessed with a 1.2-litre, SOHC based bi-fuel engine that is very fuel efficient and capable of delivering a reliable performance. Tata Motors is claiming that this emax range vehicle has the ability to deliver a peak mileage figure of about 24.6 Km/kg, which is the best in its class. In terms of appearance, the new Tata Indigo CS Emax CNG GLX trim comes with only Mint White exterior and it is further beautified with the stylish body decals. Apart from these, most of the exterior features remains to be the same as existing top end variants in its series. Coming to the inside section, you will find that the environment gets a dual tone color scheme that adds to its plushness. As far as the features are concerned, the company is offering this particular trim with a list of exciting features including air conditioning system, tachometer, power steering, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, remote boot and fuel lid opener are just to name a few.
Exteriors :
The style and appearance of the new Tata Indigo CS Emax CNG GLX trim is quite decent and it remains entirely the same as other existing variants. Currently, Tata Motors is selling this vehicle with only one White Mint color shade. However, the company has enhanced the beauty and elegance of this vehicle by adding the new stylish body decals on its side profile. To start with the front profile, here you can notice the front profile has been decorated with chrome garnished diamond radiator grille, which is surrounded by the smoked style headlights. The company is also offering this particular variant with new sporty dual tone bumper in which, the air dam gets the black color garnish. The bumper also houses two round shaped fog lights that completes the overall front profile. Coming to the side profile, you can notice the new stylish body decals that adds a distinct new look to the vehicle. Here the well crafted wheel arches have been fitted with 14-inch steel wheels and the doors are decorated with body colored ORVMs and door handles. The turn indicators are electrically adjustable and they are further blessed with turn blinkers. On the rear profile of this compact sedan, there is a chrome garnished strip fitted on to the boot lid that accentuates the rear.
Interiors :
Inside the cabin, there is a plush environment with dual tone Black and Beige color scheme that will give a wonderful feel to the occupants inside. The dashboard in the front cabin gets Ebony Black color garnish and its central console received the silver metallic treatment. The company built this particular model with an anti-acoustic chamber that keeps the interior cabin noise-free. The seats inside the cabin are covered with full fabric upholstery, which will add to the customer excitement. There are quite a few features fitted inside the cabin, which includes interior lights with theatre dimming effect, a new Octa instrument cluster, front power outlets, a new 4-spoke steering wheel, co-passenger side vanity mirror, anti-glare internal rear view mirror and so on. These features will certainly enhance the level of conveniences inside the cabin and made the journey wonderful.
Engine and Performance :
The newly introduced Tata Indigo CS Emax CNG GLX variant has been powered by the 1.2-litre, SOHC based bi-fuel engine that comes with 4-cylinders, 8-valves and produces 1193cc displacement capacity . This engine under the petrol fuel mode can generate a maximum 64.11bhp of power at 5000rpm and generates 100Nm of peak torque output at 2700rpm. When this engine is turn to the CNG mode, it can produce 55.23bhp of maximum power and at the same time it can yield 90Nm of torque at 2650rpm, which is good. On the other hand, Tata Motors has skillfully coupled this engine with an advanced F-Shift, five speed manual transmission gearbox that distributes the engine torque to the front wheels. This vehicle with bi-fuel engine has the ability to give away a maximum mileage of about 24.6Kmpl of mileage .
Braking and Handling :
The braking aspects of this compact sedan are highly proficient and offers precise braking in any situation. The company has incorporated the vacuum assisted brakes with independent dual circuit diagonal split, hydraulic braking system. This system powers the ventilated discs and drum braking combination and make them function in more efficient way. On the other hand, its rack and pinion steering system is very responsive that helps the driver to gain full control over the sedan. The company also gave importance to the most important suspension system by fitted the front axle with Independent McPherson strut type of suspension system that is loaded with coil springs. The rear axle comes fitted with the Independent, 3-link McPherson Strut type of suspension that is further assisted by anti-roll bars. This advanced suspension mechanism will contribute for the drive comforts while improving the stability of the vehicle.
Comfort Features :
The Tata Indigo CS Emax CNG GLX trim is the low cost compact sedan version in the automobile segment and it is offered with most of the standard comfort features. The list of its comfort features includes air conditioning system, power assisted steering system, front and rear power windows, boot lamp, adjustable front headrest, remote boot and fuel lid opener, new bottle holder on front door, FR and RR cabin light with 2 spot lights and so on. Apart from all these, the company blessed this new variant with an advanced multifunction music system with four speakers and two tweeters, USB, AUX-In and Bluetooth Connectivity.
Safety Features :
Coming to the protective functions, there are very few safety features offered with this vehicle. Some of these aspects include a Collapsible Steering system, Door Ajar/Seatbelt warning, child safety lock on rear doors, LED high mount stop lamp and so on.
