Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition Review

Porsche Motors is globally famous for their striking vehicles, which have always won over the heart of car enthusiasts. Among its fleet, Cayenne is one of its most stylish SUV, which has the ability to give a power packed performance on any terrain. Currently the company is selling this vehicle in seven trim levels with both petrol and diesel engine options, out of which, Porsche Cayenne Diesel is their mid range variant. It is powered by a twin turbo 3.0-litre engine, which comes with a displacement capacity of 2967cc. This engine is mated with an efficient gear box, which helps in producing a whopping power output along with a thumping torque. Designed without compromise, the Cayenne family is the result of astounding creativity and advanced engineering. The company has bestowed it with a reliable braking mechanism and its all wheels are fitted with a set of high performance ventilated disc brakes. At the same time, its suspension mechanism is quite proficient and helps in keeping the vehicle well balanced and stable. The car maker has given it a large wheelbase and a decent ground clearance, which makes it perfect for dealing with any road conditions.

Exteriors:

The excellence of this captivating SUV is clearly reflected in its attractive design and the designers of the company have done a fabulous job. This latest version now looks more sophisticated and better shaped than before from both front and rear. The large bonnet, bold radiator grille with a few slats, body colored bumper and a large windscreen makes its exteriors look quite classy. Its well-lit-up headlight cluster comprises of main bi-xenon headlamps along with auxiliary beam lights, cleaning system and automatic dynamic range control. The LED daytime running lights are also integrated separately into the clusters above the air intake grille. The bumper is fitted with a pair of round shaped fog lamps. Its side profile is designed with chrome finished window sill, body colored ORVMs and strong expressive lines. The neatly crafted wheel arches are fitted with a set of stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, which are covered with high performance tubeless radials. Its rear end is designed with a sporty rear spoiler, which is integrated with a high mounted stop lamp. The wraparound tail light cluster is incorporated with LED based lamps and side turn indicator.

Interiors:

The interiors of this variant are spectacular and done up in a Monochrome black interior package, which is complimented by a lot of wood and silver inserts. The extra sheen veneers with soft leather upholstery on the seats and high class chrome fittings make the interiors utterly lavish and pleasurable. The power steering offers a very comfortable grip to the driver and it also has wood inserts. The company has given some additional fluid lines on the driver's seat make it more relaxed and comfy. The hood is made of five layers of prodigal material that makes it lusher. It is bestowed with individual seats in front and rear cabin, which are incorporated with several innovative aspects like heating, memory and massage function. The dashboard is in a wood finish with central console and the door panels that emphasizes the exclusiveness of the interiors.

Engine and Performance:

As said above, this variant is equipped with a 3.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine that has latest generation fuel injection technology. It comprises of six cylinders and twenty four valves that displaces2967cc. This power plant has the ability to produce a whopping power of 245bhp in the range of 3800 to 4400rpm that results in a hammering torque output of 550Nm between 1750 to 2750rpm. This power plant can give away a minimum mileage of 12.8 Kmpl on the city roads, that goes up to a maximum of 16.1 Kmpl on the bigger roads, which is surprisingly good. The car maker has paired this motor with a 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission gear box with gearshift controls on steering wheel. It enables the motor to zoom toward 100 Kmph speed mark in just about 7.1 seconds from a standstill. At the same time, it can reach an electronically regulated top speed of 221 Kmph, which is rather thrilling.

Braking and Handling:

The company has given this sports utility vehicle a highly proficient braking mechanism, which performs exceptionally well in all conditions. All the four wheels are fitted with a set of internally vented and cross drilled brake discs, which are further loaded with four piston aluminum monobloc fixed calipers. It is also incorporated with an advanced anti lock braking system that collaborates with electronic brake force distribution, anti slip regulation and brake assist system, which augments its mechanism. On the other hand, the car maker has incorporated it with an advanced electromechanical power assisted steering system with variable steering ratio, which reduces the efforts required by the driver by providing precise response. As far as its suspension mechanism is concerned, it is bestowed with a lightweight spring strut type of suspension on both its front and rear axles. However, buyers can opt for a superior Porsche Active Suspension Management that includes electronic damping control system, which regulates the damping force of individual wheel depending upon the road condition and driving style.

Comfort Features:

The cabin is incorporated with an advanced automatic climate control unit including separate air vents for all passengers. It helps the vehicle to keep the entire ambiance pleasant irrespective of the temperature outside. The cabin is bestowed with an advanced audio unit that features various input options along with fourteen speakers for enhancing the ambiance of its cabin. It also has theater configuration that allows them to watch TV or a DVD on two high quality twelve inch screens that fold flat into the backs of the front seats. It is linked to an independent DVD player that allows them to choose their own content. The headphone sockets are also provided so that rear seat passengers could listen to the music or movies without disturbing the front seat passenger and driver. It also has a larger front monitor that gives a clear view of new hard drive based navigation system.

Safety Features:

It has a specifically designed aluminum body shell, which is built on a intelligent lightweight construction technology. It comprises of impact protection beams and crumple zones along with energy absorbing padding in important areas, which can deal with the impacts caused in case of a collision. The car maker has also incorporated it with an advanced anti theft protection system, which features an engine immobilizer with in-key transponder and a contact sensing exterior protection. Furthermore, it is also incorporated with a radar based interior surveillance system, which enhances the security for this SUV. Apart from these, it also has the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system, roll over protection, Porsche dynamic light system with bi-xenon head lights and automatic headlight activation including welcome home lighting.

    Worth Buying

The exterior of this car looks good compared to other cars. It looks bold and sleek. The design of the car was crafted to perfection. The interior of other cars is nothing compared to the interior of a Porsche Cayenne. The pickup of the car is too good. This smooth ride can be given only by the Porsche Cayenne. The cons of this car is the mileage and only the mileage. For the price, this car is worth it. the car is pretty smooth and silent even at high speeds. Overall, the car is nice and has more pros than cons and is worth buying. Read More

    Excellent Car with great features

Cayenne best defines the sporty character of the SUVs. From its exceptionally designed exterior to the stylish interiors, every element of the Cayenne shouts the sporty persona. The 250kW engine is genuinely what I was looking for. It pushes the power to the wheels as you press the throttle. And, in just 6.2 seconds you can get from 100 km/hr. Except for its agile performance. What I didn't like is its interior. I'm a little disappointed with the seating. Though the front seats are comfortable and spacious. But with limited legroom in the rear seats, tall persons might have a problem while travelling for long-distance.Read More
