S-Class 2012-2021 S 500 Coupe Review
Mercedes Benz India is one of the well famed luxury car makers that has always stunned car enthusiasts with its amazing vehicles. This time, it has introduced a new variant that is named Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 500 Coupe . This vehicle is great in terms of looks and bestowed with some advanced aspects. It is powered by a 4.7-litre, petrol engine that is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission gear box. It has the ability to belt out a peak power of 453bhp in combination with torque output of 700Nm. The car maker has designed its cabin with the best of materials and added chrome accents to give it a rich look. Its cockpit looks quite modernistic with several advanced equipments fitted to its dashboard. There is also a sunroof offered, which makes its interiors more sophisticated. In terms of exteriors, it looks stunning with a chrome plated radiator grille and bright, large headlamps on either sides. On the sides, it has neatly carved wheel arches fitted with a set of alloy wheels, whereas its rear end includes an expressive boot lid and a body colored bumper. Besides these, there are also several protective features available like electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, attention assist plus, crash sensors and many others that add to the safety quotient.
Exteriors:
This two door coupe has a stylish body line and comes equipped with some remarkable aspects. At front, there is a sleek bonnet with some visible character lines over it. The windscreen is wide and fitted with a couple of wipers. The radiator grille looks bold and treated with chrome. It also includes a prominent insignia of the company in its center. This grille is surrounded by a trendy headlight cluster that is integrated with crystal encrusted headlamps. Then, it has a body colored bumper that is fitted with a wide air intake section and a pair of air ducts. Moving to its side profile, it has pronounced wheel arches that are equipped with a set of alloy wheels. The window sill is garnished with chrome, whereas it has body colored door handles and outside mirrors fitted with side turn indicators. On the other hand, its rear end is designed elegantly and includes some striking features. It has radiant taillight cluster and a boot lid with company's badge embossed on it. The body colored bumper and a wide windshield are the other aspects in its rear profile.
Interiors:
It is bestowed with a plush internal section that is packed with numerous interesting aspects. There are well cushioned seats incorporated, which are covered with Designo Exclusive nappa leather upholstery. The cockpit includes a smooth and well designed dashboard that is fitted with many equipments. It has a multi-functional steering wheel, instrument cluster and a stylish center console, which again comes fitted with a music system. A few aspects inside are neatly plated with chrome, whereas the ambient lighting further adds to its elegance. It also comes with a spacious glove box, and a storage compartment with an ashtray and cigarette lighter in it. Other than these, the cabin includes Designo black piano lacquer trims, assist grips, seat integrated headrests, pockets on door trims and a few other utility aspects.
Engine and Performance:
The automaker has incorporated it with a 4.7-litre, V-type petrol engine that has a displacement capacity of 4663cc. It carries eight cylinders that are further integrated with 32 valves. It comes with a bi-turbo charging unit that further boosts its performance. This motor can produce a maximum power of 453bhp in the range of 5250 to 5500rpm. At the same time, it yields torque output of 700Nm between 1800 and 3500rpm. This power plant is skillfully paired with a 9-speed G-Tronic automatic transmission gear box. It propels the vehicle to attain a top speed of about 250 Kmph and assists it to cross the speed mark of 100 Kmph in nearly 4.6 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
This trim has both its front and rear axles assembled with AIRMATIC suspension system. It comes with continuously variable damping control system that aids in smooth and comfortable drive. In terms of braking, there are a robust set of disc brakes fitted to both its front and rear wheels with superior brake calipers. This is further accompanied by anti lock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist as well. Besides these, it is offered with a power assisted steering system that ensures precise response in any road condition and makes maneuverability quite easier to the driver.
Comfort Features:
A number of comfort features are loaded in this variant that ensures an enjoyable driving experience to its passengers. It has an air conditioning unit with THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control. For the best in-car entertainment, it has the advanced COMAND audio system with 31.2cms high resolution color media display screen. It includes DVD player, SD card slot, and Burmester surround sound system. This also supports USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. There is memory package offered for driver and co-passenger, while it has sun visors at front with vanity mirrors. Then, there is electrically adjustable steering column, cruise control with SPEEDTRONIC variable speed limiter, as well as DIRECT SELECT for shift paddles. Other than these, it includes electric sunblind for rear window, head up display, keyless go package, panoramic sunroof, and many other aspects that enhances the level of convenience.
