The latest version of Scorpio SUV has entered the country's automobile market with two diesel engine options. It is available in several variants out of which, Mahindra Scorpio S8 7 Seater is a mid range trim that has attractive features. The cockpit includes a stylish dashboard that is fitted with several equipments. Its center console is fitted with an advanced infotainment system that offers best in-car entertainment. The cabin also has mobile charging points, air conditioning unit, fabric upholstered seats, tilt steering wheel and some utility based features. The outer appearance is quite refreshing and includes some notable aspects. The front facade has a bold radiator grille and a bright headlight cluster. The side profile has external mirrors and a stylish set of alloy wheels that adds to its appearance. Whereas its rear end is designed with a radiant tail light cluster, number plate silver appliqué and a bumper. As far as its safety is concerned, this robust vehicle is loaded with some important safety aspects like auto door lock, anti theft warning and a central locking system that offers protection to its occupants. This trim is incorporated with a 2.2-litre diesel power plant that is mated with a new and improved 5-speed manual transmission gear box. This can produce a peak power of 120bhp in combination with torque of 280Nm. Exteriors:

Its robust body structure is fitted with various exterior aspects that will certainly attract the buyers. To start with the front fascia, it has an aggressive radiator grille that includes vertically positioned slats. An insignia of the company is neatly engraved in the center of this grille. It is flanked by a rectangular shaped headlight cluster. Below this grille is a revamped body colored bumper that includes an air intake section and a pair of fog lamps . The sleek bonnet has a sporty scoop and there are a couple of intermittent wipers fitted to its large windscreen. Interiors:

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, this Mahindra Scorpio S8 7 Seater trim is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger and inter-cooler. It is incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, which allows the SUV to deliver a maximum mileage of 15.4 Kmpl. This 2179cc diesel mill is integrated with four cylinders and 16-valves using a DOHC based valve configuration. It has the ability to generate a peak power output of 120bhp at 4000rpm in combination with a 280Nm of torque between 1800 to 2800rpm. It is cleverly mated with a new and smoother five speed manual transmission gear box, which sends the engine power to its front wheels. It helps in attaining a top speed of approximately 156 Kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 Kmph in close to 15.8 seconds. 

Braking and Handling:

Its front wheels are equipped with a set of ventilated disc brakes with calipers, while the rear wheels get drum brakes. This mechanism is further assisted by anti lock braking system. On the other hand, the suspension mechanism of this SUV is accompanied by hydraulic double acting telescopic shock absorbers. Its front axle is assembled with a double wishbone type of system with with independent front coil spring. The rear axle gets a multi-link coil spring suspension, which is assisted by anti roll bar. It has a rack and pinion based hydraulic power steering system, which supports a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters.

Comfort Features:

This trim has an advanced 2-DIN music system with voice command technology. It supports CD/MP3 player, radio with AM/FM tuner, USB interface and Aux-in port. It has a manual HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioner) unit with rear AC vents that cools the entire cabin quickly. It has a tilt adjustable steering wheel, which is quite responsive and makes it easy to handle in city traffic conditions. The illuminated instrument panel is equipped with a few functions like a digital tachometer, an electronic tripmeter, low fuel warning light, odometer, fuel consumption display, door ajar and driver seatbelt reminder notifications. Apart from these, the company has also given this variant rear parking sensors, projector lamps, all four power windows with driver side auto down function, electrically adjustable ORVMs, arm rest on front seats and follow me home headlamps.
