XF 2.2 Litre Luxury Review

Jaguar is among the world's most respected car makers, and it has a reasonably strong position in the Indian market. Among the recognized range of models from the company, the XF is a notable one. Released in 2007, the model comes under the mid sized luxury car segment. It has a range of variants, one among which is the Jaguar XF 2.2 Litre Luxury . This variant is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that delivers a strong performance and good fuel efficiency as well. Going over to a softer facet, the car has been molded with the spirit of a sports car, with its low and elegant profile. Its energetic body appeal is also layered with strong luxury themes. The interior of the vehicle makes for a fulfilling ride atmosphere. Plush upholstery decorates the seats, and a variety of other plush materials enrich the remainder of the cabin. The passengers are given the benefit of many comfort and convenience functions, along with a good musical system for their entertainment needs.

Exteriors:

The vehicle's external appeal is shaped by its graceful and streamlined body. Its sporty low profile and aerodynamic stance allows the ease of performance and enhancing its look at the same time. There is a large grille at front that makes a bold design statement. It is flanked by slim and stylish headlamp clusters. The company has incorporated them with Xenon lights that have an automatic leveling function, along with LED signature lights and daytime running lights, enabling safe visibility. At the bottom of the frontage, there is a wide air intake section that helps in keeping the engine cool, and at the same time adds to the vehicle's distinct look. The hood is large and muscular, with clean lines that accentuate its dynamic personality. The windshield is sloped back to facilitate air flow around the machine and promote speed. There are rain sensing wipers for visibility during wet conditions. Coming to the side facet, the body hosts slender curves and a long body line at the bottom. The 17 inch Usra alloy wheels further nourish the car's sporty personality. The exterior mirrors are armed with approach lamps and side repeaters for a more convenient and safe drive. In addition to this, they are electrically adjustable, and come with heating, auto dimming and power folding functions for the passengers' ease of working. The vehicle has a strong tail section, with a higher and more pronounced boot arena. The tail light cluster has a beautiful design and equipped with LED light units for added safety. At the bottom, there are two pairs of double exhaust pipes, which give it a more refined presence. The graceful emblem of the company stands out as the highlight of the rear portion.

Interiors:

The vehicle has a cabin that makes for a more ambient drive presence, and at the same time, fulfills all the requirements of its passengers. To start with, the seats are arranged for apt space and comfort for all of the occupants. A rich bond grain leather covers all of the seats. The driver gets the benefit of an attractively designed 3 spoke steering wheel covered in leather. Behind this, there is an intelligently modeled instrument panel, which is also bond grain stitched and tailored for the most rich feel. The door top rolls are also stitched and tailored with this. The upper fascia has a 'warm charcoal' stitching. The Morzine headlining adds to the energetic aura of the cabin. In addition to this, the interiors are further lavished with fine veneer of knurled aluminum with satin rosewood. There is a carpet set at the front and rear, giving the passengers ease of worry free feet placement. There are headrests on all of the seats, offering support to the occupants' head and neck through the course of the drive.

Engine and Performance:

The vehicle is fitted with a 2.2-litre engine that is integrated with a diesel direct fuel injection system. It is composed of four inline cylinders, and has a turbocharger that enhances the overall power output. This 2179cc engine produces a power of 188hp at 3500rpm, along with a peak torque of 450Nm at 2000rpm. The engine is coupled with an 8 speed electronic automatic transmission for impeccable gear shifting. Altogether, the vehicle is carried to a top speed of 225kmph, and can race from stall to 100kmph within 8.5 seconds. Besides strong performance, the engine is also conducive for good fuel benefits. It delivers a mileage of 16.36kmpl, which is a solid figure for this vehicle's segment.

Braking and Handling:

The vehicle is built for good standards with regard to its braking and suspension arrangements. Firstly, there are strong disc brakes for a controlled drive throughout. Beside this, the anti lock braking system enables safety when braking and turning. This function is further aided by the electronic brakeforce distribution and the emergency brake assist functions. A traction control feature intervenes between the operations of the engine and the brakes to enhance control. Dynamic stability control further adds to the stability of the vehicle. Coming to the suspension, there is a unique adaptive dynamics system specially designed by Jaguar, which improves the handling of the vehicle for a safe and comfortable ride.

Comfort Features:

Firstly, there is a Jaguar sound system, which provides quality entertainment for the passengers. The 250W sound system comes along with a single CD slot along with a woofer and tweeter on each door for apt sound quality. Bluetooth connectivity is an added bonus for the entertainment requirements. This facility allows for musical streaming through Bluetooth enabled devices, and for call hosting inside of the cabin. A navigation system is also present, relieving the drive burden by offering easier access to locations and destinations. A dual zone climate control facility improves the drive ambiance with the use of humidity control, and odor filtration.

Beside all of this, seatbelts are provided for all of the passengers, keeping them secure at all times.
