Ford India is a fully owned subsidiary of the American car major Ford Motor Company. Ford at present is the largest car manufacturer in the country after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Chevrolet. Ford launched this car in the Indian market in September, 2009. The sales of Ford Figo increased the overall sales of the company by 184% in 2010. The overall sales of the company reached to 83,887 in 2010 against 29,488 in 2009. The sales of the Ford Figo exceeded 76,000 units since its launch in March 2010, which has a significant effect on the overall sales growth of the company. But seems like this is not the end, the sales of Ford Figo has continued to increase in 2011. As per reports given by the company it is said that the sales of Figo hatchback tripled in the month of February, 2011. It is expected that the Indian car market will grow rapidly in the coming years and it seems like Ford has prepared itself to capitalize the growth. Ford Figo Petrol ZXI is powered by 1.2L 71bhp petrol engine which generates 70bhp of maximum power and 102Nm of maximum torque . The other standard features in the car include the Air conditioner, CD player, Power Steering and Windows and central locking. The exterior of the car is designed in such a manner to give this car a bit sporty look. Two headlamps in the front are designed in very typical manner, with the turn indicators placed above it. The front grille is designed in very sleek with the Ford logo placed in the centre. The lower grille is very big in size and is placed at very low height to give this car a sporty look.

But it lacks some of the safety features which are found in the same price segment hatchback like ABS, brake assist; child safety locks, anti-theft alarm, airbags, Xenon headlamps, traction control crash sensor and engine check warning.

The infotainment section of the car includes the CD/MP3 Player with USB Aux in and Radio with the total of 4 speakers in the front and rear . This sound system is not that advanced but it surely will fulfill all the basic needs of an audio system. This audio system could easily be operated from the rear by single touch of the remote control. It also has the Bluetooth interface which allows you to connect the phone and perform basic functions without touching it. The basic functions that you can do with this Bluetooth interface are Phonebook access, Call Logs, Call Swap, Call Hold, Call Mute, Privacy mode, SMS Notification and Audio streaming.
