Figo 2010 2012 Petrol Titanium Review
Ford Motors launched the Ford Figo on 9th March 2010 and from that date the hatchback has started taking control of the small car segment. The car was a real big success when compared to other Ford models in India. The demand of the car increased so much that the company invested US $ 500 million to double its production capacity to 2,00,000 units per annum, which shows that how much the company is desperate to beat Maruti, Hyundai and Tata Motors. This was not just a small car but a ray of hope for Ford Motors as it put the company back on track which was much needed at that time. This small car has in it everything that a small car owner would have wished for but there are some limitations as this is a compact and all the features can’t possibly fit in. The car is powered by a 1.2L petrol engine that generates a decent amount of power and torque to provide a good acceleration and pickup. Talking about the exterior of the car, the front has big lower grille with the outside rear view mirrors and the door hands painted in body colour to give this car a sporty look. Ford Figo shares its key features with its siblings Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus and the European Ford Fiesta. The advanced third generation of Ford Figo features ABS with EBD to improve the brake mechanism, dual airbags in the front to provide safety in case of front collision. Belt tensioners and Belt Force limiters, Seatbelt warning indicator, Door-ajar warning etc.
Mileage
The car is powered by a 1.2L petrol engine that comes with a displacement of 1196cc . This Sequential Electric Fuel Injection engine with five speed manual transmission is highly fuel economic and the exhaust emissions are clean. The engine delivers a mileage of 12.5 kmpl in the city while on the highway it offers a mileage around 15.5 kmpl. This engine also meets the BS IV emission standards which is the Bharat Emission standard instituted by the government of India to keep control over the pollution caused by the internal combustion engines.

Braking and Handling
The brake mechanism of the car includes the ventilated disc brakes in the front and the drum brakes in the rear. The suspension is also very effective; front has the Independent McPherson strut with dual path mounts while the rear has Semi-Independent twist beam with coil springs which reduces the amount of shock and vibrations. This brake mechanism is further enhanced by ABS with EBD in the car which avoids any skidding and keeps the full control in driver’s hand. The handling includes the 5 speed gearbox with the manual transmission .
Safety Features
Figo hatchback comes with some all the basic safety features that a small car owner would expect at an affordable price. The safety features in the car include the ABS with EBD and brake assist to improve brake mechanism, Foldable grab handles with Coat Hooks at the rear, 3 point seatbelts for front and rear seats with the lap strap for rear centre passenger. The basic features include the single torn horn, laminated glazed windscreen, power steering, power windows, trunk light, vanity mirror, smart programmable key less entry, intelligent central locking, PATS, Rear wipe and defogger, fog lamps and the dual front airbags that provide safety in case of crash.
Stereo and Accessories
In the infotainment section of the car includes the CD/MP3 Player with USB Aux in and Radio with the total of 4 speakers in the front and rear . The audio system is highly advanced and can fulfill all the basic requirements of the small car owner. It also allows the Bluetooth interface with your mobile phones so that you can access all your basic phone functions without touching the phone. These functions include the Phonebook, Call logs, Call Swap, Call Hold, Call Mute, Privacy mode, SMS Notifications and Audio Streaming. The speed sensing volume control in the car allows increases the seed of the audio system with the increase in the speed of the car. The Accessories include the Air conditioner with heater that provides with effective cooling due to the 4 vents on the dash. The instrumentation panel of the car has Digital Odometer and trip meter, Distance to Empty (DTE) display, Door Ajar indicator, Low fuel warning lamp, Headlamp in reminder and Tachometer.
