Ford Figo is not just only a car for Ford Motors but it’s the one that has helped Ford to make its grip more firm in the Indian car market. This small car has garnered decent sales figure and is expected to do the same in the future. Ford Figo Titanium diesel has given a real tough competition to the other diesel hatchback like Maruti Swift, Toyota Etios Liva, Hyundai i20, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Ford India has taken various measures to price this car competitively leaving no chance of being beaten by its rivals. The exterior of the car is designed in such a manner to make it look little bit sporty. The front of the car has Halogen headlamps in the distinctive eye shape; the upper grille is kept very slim with the Ford logo placed at the centre of the grill whereas the lower grille gives the car very aggressive look. The side rear view mirrors and the door handles are in the same colour. At the middle front of the roof we can see a sleek antenna with the Anti Drip wiping at the front windshield.

The Ford Figo Diesel Titanium is powered by a 1.4L 69 bhp diesel engine that comes with a displacement of 1399cc . This engine at present powers the Ford Ikon and the Ford Fiesta which has been a great success in the market due to its performance and efficiency. This hatchback shares its key features from its other siblings like Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus and the European Ford Fiesta. This Figo model has an array of advanced features including the safety and the comfort of the passengers and the driver. It includes Dual Front Airbags that offers safety in case of front collision, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) that enhance the stability of the car and provides a comfortable driving experience. Mileage

The titanium variant of Ford Figo is powered by a 1.3 L 69bhp Duratorq diesel engine which is highly fuel efficient and economic. This diesel engine provides a mileage 14.5 kmpl in the city and can even reach up to 18.5 kmpl on the highways. This diesel engine is verified with the BS IV Emission Norm. The BS IV is the Bharat Emission Standard IV instituted by the government of India to reduce the air pollution from the internal combustion engines. This car has a total fuel tank capacity of 45 litres which means you can drive around 832kms without refueling .

The Ford Figo under its hood holds a 1.3L Duratorq diesel engine that comes with a displacement of 1399cc. This diesel engine generates 69bhp at 4000rpm and a torque of 160Nm at 2000rpm. This same engine also powers the Ford Fiesta sedan which is known for its efficiency and power; so now with increased power to weight ratio the car would provide a wonderful acceleration ad pickup. This power and the torque generated by the car are a bit higher if compared to its rivals making it stand one step ahead of the others.

When it comes to the acceleration the 1.3 L Duratorq diesel engine generates a power of 69bhp @ 4000 rpm and a torque of 160Nm @ 2000rpm. This diesel engine with such power could take the car from 0-100 kmph in just 16 seconds and can reach to a speed of 175 kmph to provide a very thrilling effect to the passengers. This is further enhanced with the 5 speed gear box with manual transmission to maintain the momentum of the car.

It has a total of 4 cylinders with 4 valves per cylinder and SOHC valve configuration with common rail fuel supply system.  The engine performance is further improved by the 5 speed manual transmission .

Braking & Handling

The brake mechanism in the car includes the ventilated disc brakes in the front and the drum brakes in the rear. This mechanism is further improved by the ABS, EBD and brake assist which avoid skidding and keeps the full control of the car in driver’s hand. In the suspension system the car has Independent McPherson strut with dual path mounts in the front and the Semi-independent twist beams, with coil springs in the rear. The 5 speed manual transmission with the Hydraulic power assisted steering wheel provides you with a comfortable handling.

As this is the top end variant of Ford Figo so it incorporates all the basic and advanced features that one could expect from a hatchback. The safety features in the car include ABS, Brake assist, Central Locking, Power Door Locks, Front airbag, Day and Night Rear view mirror, Passenger side rear view mirror, Halogen Headlamps, Rear Seat Belts, Door Ajar warning, Keyless entry and engine immobiliser.

Stereo & Accessories

Ford Figo Titanium has in it a CD/MP3 Player with USB Aux in and Radio with 4 Speakers in the front and the rear. The Bluetooth phone interface allows you to connect your mobile phone to the car and do the basic operations without touching the handset. These include the Phonebook operations, Call Logs, Call Swap, Call Hold, Call Mute, Privacy mode, SMS Notification and audio streaming. The audio system also has the speed dependent volume control that increases the volume of the car with increase in speed. The accessories include the Air conditioner with 4 vents on the dash. Figo hatchback also has Vibrant Coral IP, Cup Holders and Remote Boot open and fuel tank. The instrumentation section of the car includes the Digital odometer and Tripmeter, DTE display, Chime and Techometer.
