X6 2014-2019 xDrive 40d M Sport Review
BMW India has launched its second generation X6 SUV in a single diesel variant, which is offered with the M Sport package as standard. This package includes air breather in high gloss black, tailpipe cover in high gloss chrome, M door sill finishers, M aerodynamics package and a few others. The overall design and style of this BMW X6 xDrive 40d M Sport trim is quite refreshing and captivating as well. It gets a new kidney bean shaped radiator grille, while the headlight cluster is also updated. Both the front and rear bumpers are revamped a bit and now, they look more muscular. This version gets a new set of 19 inch double spoke alloy wheels, while its rear profile includes trendy tail lamps, neatly finished diffuser and a couple of rectangular chrome exhaust tips. As for its interiors, the latest improvements include a leather wrapped M steering wheel, paddle shifters, Harman Kardon sound system as well as heads-up display. It is powered by a commanding 3.0-litre diesel engine that is skillfully mated with an eight speed automatic transmission gear box. This mill can belt out an impressive power of 313bhp along with peak torque output of 630Nm. Another key update is made to its suspension system, which has an adaptive air system on its rear axle. Compared to its previous model, it now weighs 40 Kgs less but is 34mm longer. Exteriors:
This variant is certainly a head turner, as it carries the design and silhouette, which resembles a coupe. The frontage is highlighted by a sporty shaped double kidney radiator grille, which is treated with a lot of chrome. It is flanked by a trendy headlight cluster that is integrated with adaptive LED headlamps with high beam assistance. Just below this, is a well sculpted and muscular bumper in body color, which is fitted with an air intake section as well as a couple of bright LED fog lamps. The tinted windscreen above, is equipped with a pair of wipers, whereas the bonnet looks stunning with some expressive lines over it. The main attraction in its side profile is the set of 19 inch, double spoke styled M light alloy wheels. Interiors:
Right from its color scheme to the premium quality materials, everything is just perfect in this vehicle. Other aspects in the cabin include foldable rear seat, floor mats in velour, ambient lights, front seats with lumbar support, and a few others.
Engine and Performance:
The car maker has fitted it with a 3.0-litre diesel engine that has a displacement capacity of 2993cc. This is a six cylinder based motor, which comes with 24 valves. Being integrated with a direct injection system, this mill returns a maximum fuel economy of 15.87 Kmpl on highways and around 12.8 Kmpl within city limits. It can belt out a peak power of 313bhp at 4400rpm and delivers torque output of 630Nm in the range of 1500 and 2500rpm. This powertrain is paired with a 8-speed steptronic sport based automatic transmission that distributes engine power to all its four wheels. Furthermore, it can hit a top speed of nearly 240 Kmph and crosses the speed mark of 100 Kmph in just about 5.8 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
All its wheels are equipped with a robust set of disc brakes. It is further accompanied by anti lock braking system along with brake assist. It is incorporated with a proficient adaptive M suspension system with damper control, which improves its driving dynamics. Besides these, good handling is ensured by its power assisted steering system that makes maneuverability quite easier even in heavy traffic.
Comfort Features:
This SUV guarantees an enjoyable and hassle free driving experience by way of its several advanced features. An automatic air conditioning unit is offered that cools the cabin in no time. It comes with a four zone control and rear air vents as well. It is bestowed with BMW ConnectedDrive system that features iDrive touch with color display of 26cms. This unit also includes BMW apps, navigation system professional with 3D maps, besides supporting USB connectivity and Bluetooth with audio streaming. The Harman Kardon Surround Sound system with 16 loudspeakers gives the best sound output. Another interesting aspect is the electrical glass sunroof that lets in fresh air and sunlight. Other than these, the list also includes smokers package, roller sun blinds for rear side windows, gearshift paddles, park distance control, rear view camera, rain sensor and automatic driving lights, interior and exterior mirrors with automatic anti dazzle function and several others.

It comes with a long list of security aspects that ensures maximum protection of its occupants throughout the drive.
