Being a diehard fan of rugged SUVs since my teenage, I have been waiting for the Jeep Wrangler to be launched in India. I booked the Wrangler way before it started making news in the Indian market. Jeep is a known name in India as most of the SUVs in the rural areas are still known by the name Jeep since the brand had a presence in the 70s and 80s. I bought the diesel 4X4 version with the intention of going off-road every weekend or so to my farmhouse. What makes this car iconic is the ample ground clearance, powerful engine, and the 4X4, altogether capable of dealing with any terrain. I have seen the engine performance as well as the braking and suspension quite reliable. However, the only downside till date has been the ownership cost which is drilling my pocket ever since I bought the vehicle. Rest, the vehicle is a fun to drive hardcore off-roader. I would recommend buying it, but only at your own disposal if you are willing to shell out over Rs. 80 lakhs on road.
