New Swift is the best car in the segment but Swift falls on NCAP crash test and scores only 2 stars on safety. If you want good mileage, after-sales and service, space and comfort, low maintenance cost, good resale value, and value for money then go for swift.

Hi, I have been using my Maruti Swift VDI since October 2014 after a TrueValue exchange with my Wagon R. I am a very long time user of Maruti cars having owned a Maruti Omni for 25 years along with my other car from 2006 onwards. To my belief, my Swift VDI is the most trusted and reliable car. We are a family of 4 and travelled long distances for holidays at least twice every year. The car has never let me down and is a very fast and responsive car. The Fiat DDIS engine is simply superb and smooth. So far, after 54,000 km there has been no maintenance issues. Steering and gearbox are smooth and the clutch is light. The car rides very smoothly over rough roads. Seats are also very comfortable. Except for the replacement of the battery after 4 years and tyres after 40,000 km, there is no major maintenance needed. I am still running the original clutch. On highways, the car is very stable and easily cruises at over 100 kmph touching 120 - 130 kmph on stretches with AC always on and in a full load. There is no driver fatigue given that I am a 6 ft well-built man. My family members are also not light. The only negative for this model is that it does not have ABS and EBD brakes which they have provided in the later models. Spares are cheap and my dealer services the car well. Sad that Maruti discontinued the diesel DDIS engine which still provides over 21 km mileage on highways and around 18 km in the city. Bravo Swift. This is a gem if a car from Maruti. It still looks like new.

Worst experience with this car Noisy, unstable, and lack of space. Very bad experience. Service on Maruti center a big challenge for owners because they document if you are not aware.

After-sales service is very bad in Bangalore, there are hidden service charges, no proper service work, all service centers are flooded with lots of vehicles, but with less number of qualified technicians and mechanics, they can't do the job properly. For every paid service, they charge a minimum of Rs10k. Very expensive.

Good car and a stylish one. it's really fun to drive. Good car for a long ride. If you drive it rough you need to invest more on service that's the negative point.

Mileage is good and services cost isn't high but safety isn't good and quality of the material isn't good enough.

Owned this car 2 months ago. Everything is good. The car makes some noise at the door. Hope to solve it in the next service. Mileage 15 km/l in the city with AC on. The heavy footer can get low mileage. Ride between 1500 - 2000 km for best mileage in the city.
