India Bound Ford Escort Showcased at 2014 Auto China
Ford Escort is revived! – the legend is woken up from a long sleep of nearly 12 years, the Escort is showcased by Ford at the 2014 Auto China. The sedan is completely developed by Ford Australia and has been design specially for developing markets like China and India. Ford entered India with the Escort being it's first car in 1996 and it was discontinued in 2001. The nameplate 'Escort' was removed globally a year later, in 2002. The car is expected to hit next year in the country under Ford's 'One Ford' policy. The sedan, if launched in India will sit above the Fiesta in the D-segment.
