Tata Motors unveils the All-New BOLT

Its the Auto Expo 2014 and Tata has unveiled its Bolt, a premium B+ segment hatchback. The current Vista platform, X1, has been brought in service for this car. This car targets the buyers who have been waiting for a performance oriented hatch with better fuel-efficiency and style and we can see a combination of all three requirements in this car.   Tata Bolt is going to be available in both petrol and diesel variants. Its petrol variant is packed with a turbocharged 1.2 Revotron engine and its diesel engine will be powered by a 1.3 Quatrajet. There will be two transmission options with these engines; one is the new F-Tronic Automated Manual Ttransmission (AMT) and the other is a 5 speed manual transmission. The AMT is the same technology promised by Maruti Suzuki in their upcoming Celerio.     The exteriors and interiors of the hatch are based on Vista, however, they are gone under heavy experiments. The car features a smilie shaped front grille with Tata badge on it. It gets large headlamps with curvy side indicators and the rear view mirrors get chrome finished. Its side panels, tail lamps and the entire rear profile add much to its beauty. The interiors will get quality leather and LED illumination inside. The hatchbacks like Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i20 and Volkswagen Polo will have a tough fight with Bolt.
