    Q.

Which is better Kushaq or Safari?

    • Cardekho experts
    • on 16 Jul 2022

Both the cars are good in their forte. The Kushaq is a desirable and sensible package for the compact urban family. This car features excellent infotainment and sound experience. On the other hand, The Safari has its own personality, and a charming one at that. It can seat 7 people in comfort, the cabin feels really premium and the ride quality is fantastic. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your city accordingly for dealership details.Read more -Tata Safari: First Drive Review.-Skoda Kushaq First Drive Review: All That You've Been Waiting For?.

    Q.

Which engine is best, 1.3 or 1.5?

    • Cardekho experts
    • on 28 Dec 2021

The first is 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic options), making 110PS. If you chase performance, you can go for the 1.3-litre turbo petrol (paired with a 6-speed torque converter) making 140PS. We drove the Astor mainly on the circuit, and after two hot laps around the Buddh’s technical layout, we came away quite surprised. Obviously, it’s not a sports car, but we weren't expecting it to be as much fun as it turned out to be. The turbo-petrol motor has good pulling power, and thanks to its free-revving nature, we managed to cross 160kmph down the long 1km straight with ease. The gearbox does feel a bit slow -- both in terms of upshifts and downshifts -- especially out on the racetrack. But on the road, it might prove to be quick enough. What this gearbox does well, however, is it masks this motor's initial lag, which is typical of most turbo-petrol engines. On the other hand, The 1.5-litre engine was the only choice and we managed to drive both the manual and auto variants. The engine is smooth and refined with linear power delivery and there's plenty of power for exciting twisty roads as well as effortless long trips. We had no trouble hitting triple-digit speeds with ease and Skoda's claims of 8.6 seconds to 100kmph sounds perfectly believable. Only going to drive in the city? Well, the motor pulls from as low as 1300rpm, so it has excellent driveability at city speeds as well. Which is better Kushaq or Astor?

    • Cardekho experts
    • on 12 Oct 2021

Both the cars are good in their forte. The Astor manages to stand out in the segment with its looks, tech and upmarket cabin experience. And the rest of the elements like drive and comfort look promising as well. On the other hand, this ‘king’ certainly has some flaws but they aren't big enough for most buyers to ignore the Kushaq's royal claims. The Kushaq is a desirable and sensible package for the compact urban family. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive.
