    First class Car.

Awesome, powerful car with solid looks and the problem is only with ride quality and build quality and the power is very less according to a powerful engine.

    Average Car.

The look is a little poor, publicity is very important, the body bold part is not reflected. The latest color is not highlighted, the wheel cap is a major factor.

Mahindra Xylo A Comfortable Cruiser With Lots of Space

It has been a long time driving my Xylo and I thought to pen down my driving experience. It's been about 4 years and over 30,000 kms of driving and right, in the beginning, I want to say that I have enjoyed owning this utility vehicle so far. First I would like to start with the positives of this vehicle. Styling is a subjective matter so I won't comment on it, however, for large families whose main aim is to haul 7-8 passengers and potter around the city and highways with oodles of space, they will definitely ignore the styling aspect. Starting with space and comfort, the driver's place is the best position to be in as the seat can snug you from all the sides along with ample under-thigh support. Every time I drive this vehicle I am easily able to find a comfortable driving position. The second row keeps the occupants happy with plethora of leg space and the 6 feet tall person like me can easily sit comfortably. Even the third row can accommodate average size adults comfortably. Though you won't find goodies of today's Innova and Ertiga, but you do get features such as retractable music system holder, follow me headlamps, power windows front and rear, remote fuel lid opener, rear ac vents and accessory power outlet. The AC is effective but not as thrilling as in Scorpio. Now coming to the performance, I have always had ample power in hand be it on driving on slopes or overtaking. The power delivery remains almost instant. Though I usually feel mild engine vibrations on the steering, these tend to diminish at higher rpms. The driving in the city premises is easy, thanks to the low-end torque. The suspension has been tuned to be on the softer side that translates to fantastic low-speed ride quality within the city, absorbing the majority of potholes and other undulations. In terms of fuel efficiency, in a utility vehicle like this you can't expect much so I usually get around 10kmpl in cities and around 14 kmpl on highways which I think is good enough for a 7-8 seater vehicle. Maintaining the vehicle is also not so hard as you have to shell out around Rs. 7-8 thousand annually. Overall, this car has proved to be a reliable workhorse for me over these years and I am not looking at least for 4-5 years to replace this vehicle.

Xylo Worried About Space? This Is The Vehicle You Need

At present, we are six members in our family. The car we were driving was Maruti Ritz which was quite small and needed to upgrade seeing the limited space we get. It was a 4-5 seater vehicle and that makes all of us quite cramped inside. My father thought of buying the MUV Toyota Innova and along with that, we searched for many other cars as well. Finally, we came to know about Mahindra Xylo and the vehicle seems to be quite interesting. All of us agreed to buy Mahindra Xylo due to its excess space inside the cabin, ergonomics, aggressive road presence and amazing sporty appearance. The built quality and fit and finish of the car is quite impressive and doesn?t look like a vehicle of yesteryear. On the outside, its robust grille with chrome slats looks super cool. The vehicle comes with body coloured bumper and included fog lamps. Flared wheel arches and body graphics add to the sporty looks of the car. Interior cabin of Mahindra Xylo are quite spacious and with capacity of absorbing 8 people, it was quite a worthy option on our list. The driver side seat is ergonomically designed along with height adjustable controls to provide maximum comfort to the driver on long drives. The tiltable steering wheel can be adjusted for the best driving position. Xylo gets the revolutionary tech-savvy Digital Drive Assist and alphanumeric display in the center panel. Being a Mahindra car, there is no dearth of safety features either, the car offers airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking and engine immobilizer. The mHawk diesel engine which can generate the power output of 118 bhp has never let us down. So, Mahindra?s diesel-driven Xylo is the finest car for occasional off-roading and regular maneuvering inside in the city. We have also found that Xylo is a comfortable cruiser on highways. At the outset, all I can say that we have enjoyed the ownership so far.

Mahindra Xylo E8 with ABS and Airbags

I bought my Mahindra Xylo after comparing against Toyota Innova, Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio. Innova had the best engine. However, they were very expensive. Having used Camry and Sienna in the US, I felt cheated by Toyota's features and pricing. Tata Safari was good on looks but handling was very tough. So, knocked it off. Finally, it came to the two horses from the Mahindra stable - Scorpio or Xylo. When I test drove the Scorpio, it was as if the seats hugged me. It was fantastic. However, the comforted waned off in the second and third row seats. Xylo was an ok drive. I liked the road presence and the height because I am a 6 foot plus frame. Finally, the comfort in the second row and third row was too good to ignore. The salesman pitched it this way - If you are buying it for yourself and just you in mind, go for the Scorpio. If you are buying with your family who will travel in the second and third rows in mind, go for the Xylo. Mine is a large family with seven members. So, you know why the Xylo choice. So far, I have had some issues with engine, AC and Suspensions. It has been more than 6 years now. However, am happy because I feel good when I ride my Xylo when compared to the other vehicles. It simply has the road presence and when driven fairly, gives a terrific mileage - Without AC on highways, I get 15KMPL and with AC, I easily get about 13-14KMPL. This is now, even after 6 years! Moreover, I added pseudo leather seats, DVD Player and some other cool fittings and my Xylo is a moving caravan. The entire family has a great time while travelling in it. In fact, I tried selling it many times. I got many buyers with decent prices. Somehow, in the last moment, I become weak-kneed and just couldn't afford to see my Xylo (fondly called Dayson) go. In fact, the consensus at home is - if you sell Dayson, then you will have to buy an another Xylo only!! There are some cool puddle lamps, individual AC vents and reading lamps and other small innovations which were not available in 2010 with Innova and others. But the clear differentiator for me with respect to Innova is the resting of my thighs on the seat while I drive. In Innova, somehow, my long legs are never at ease. In Xylo..it is always relaxed and hence long drives are just terrific. However, if your look out is for resale value, just forget Xylo, stick to Innova. Xylo is for those who are tall, have big families and those who enjoy space, leg room and comfort more than being worried about the resale of the car. As for me, I am not sure, if my family will allow me to sell. Then, what worry about resale!! These are my personal views and I am not sure about the latest Xylo models. However, what I got and what I experienced was worth it according to my family and me. Have a great driving life!

The Majestic and the Muscular, the Mahindra Xylo Top End H9 Class

Look and Style: Awesome, Fantabulous. I call mine a White Beauty or sometimes the White Bull. Comfort: Extremely comfortable. Best and better than Innova. Pickup: Very High Torque, beats Innova in all ways and terrains. Mileage: Better than Innova. I get 18 kmpl on Highways and in City it is around 13 to 14 kmpl. Best Features: Tall boy, feel like the king of the road while driving it. Needs to improve: Body rolling and boot space for luggage. Overall Experience: Overall, it is so Amazing car!

    Stay far away

Unless you are buying this vehcile for 3 years, stay as far away as possible. Stranded on road about 3 times, had to tow vehicle paying 4K each time, each time the dealership had to change something costing me an average of 25000/-. The looks of this vehicle can be deceiving for anyone looking at the car, but it is all plastic as everyone already knows. Having used the vehicle, now I know that they sell this vehcile at a lower cost not just because of the plastic exteriors, but below par mechanical and electronic devices and bad quality control.
