PSA Peugot Citroen to Supply LCV to Toyota in Europe

Toyota and PSA Peugot CitroÑ‘n have sealed the deal with regards to the light commercial vehicles for the European market. As per the deal, PSA is to supply Toyota with light commercial vehicles for sale in the European market. These commercial vehicles will be sold under the Toyota Brand. As per the deal, Toyota Motor Europe will participate in the development and industrial investment cost, though there aren’t any plans for Joint venture yet. In second quarter 2013, to mark the beginning, PSA Peugot CitroÑ‘n will be supplying medium sized Vans which will be based on Peugot Expert and CitroÑ‘n Jumpy. The next generation vehicles from Peugot CitroÑ‘n also fall under the collaboration which is expected to last till the year 2020.

Commenting on the association, Toyota Motor Europe President and CEO, Didier Leroy said that by joining hands with the Peugot CitroÑ‘n, Toyota has found a replacement for their recently discontinued HiAce model, which will help them retain their loyalists especially because the PSA Peugot CitroÑ‘n group is one of the most reputed company in the vehicle market of Europe for quality and versatility. On the other hand, Jean-Christophe Quémard, the executive VP for the PSA Peugot CitroÑ‘n programmes said that this agreement would help and mark the development of new generation of mid-sizes light commercial vehicles that would offer both the companies with a competitive product for the European market.
