Hyundai Santa Fe ready for launch by Dec 2010

Hyundai Santa Fe, the much awaited SUV model in India, will be launched in the country by the end of this year. Initially, the Santa Fe model will be introduced as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), but after 2-3 years Hyundai will consider importing it as a Completely Knocked-down Unit, as per a statement given by company's Managing Director Hang-Woo Park.

The Hyundai Santa Fe was first introduced in the world auto market in 2001, it is the first SUV model from Hyundai to which the company launched globally. The existing SUV, Tucson, would not compete with Santa Fe as both are built on different platforms. There are no plans to give a face-lift to Tucson. It will not compete with Santa Fe, said HMIL Marketing and Sales Vice president Arvind Saxena.

Hyundai is also planing to launch a new 800cc small car in India by year 2011. the company had invested close to Rs 800 crore on producing the car, which would be placed below Hyundai Santro Mr Saxena added.

Hyundai recently launched a new version of its popular hatchback Hyundai i20 and it is receiving a very good response for it. Excited by the response the company is planing to launch new and face-lifted versions of its popular cars in India including small hatchback Hyundai Santro Xing, premium hatchbacks Hyundai i10 and i20, entry level sedans Hyundai Accent and Verna, and a luxury sedan Hyundai Sonata Embera.

Company is targeting to sell around Rs 5.25 lakh cars in total this year, of which 50 per cent is in Indian market. To catch up with this rising demand the it is planning to expand number of its dealerships to 320 from existing 289 by the end of this month. The company is expecting a very good responce from Indian buyers for its Hyundai Santa Fe model.

Price shall be less than 20 lac compare to captiva

    the price is very high, it should be in the range of Rs 17 to Rs.18 lacs so as to compete with Toyota Fortuner
