BMW has taken the curtains off its two exquisite vehicles of the prestigious M series and they are the super sporty coupe M4 and the eminent sedan M3. It is the fifth generation of both these impeccable vehicles from BMW and the company is banking on the next generation now to carry forward this legacy. BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe, for the first time, would be showcased together at the Detroit Motor Show in January

BMW has axed the V8 engine for both these vehicles; therefore making way for a 6-cylinder engine. But it doesn't mean that the vehicles would be producing lesser power output, instead the power would be the same as previous. BMW's 6-cylinder traditional engine comprised with turbochargers would power both the 2015 M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe. This in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology would belt out an enormous power output of 431bhp and a peak torque of 550Nm. It would be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission with a vision to accomplish higher fuel economy and less CO2 emission. Additionally, a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission would also be on offer. By no means, this is going to affect the lightening fast acceleration of these vehicles, for which they are known globally. Both the coupe and sedan would cross the 100kmph barrier from stand still in just 4.1 seconds. It would touch the 0-100 kmph mark in a mere 3.9 seconds with the 7-speed automatic transmission which is just incredible.

BMW has made one more remarkable modification in the next generation M3 sedan and M4 coupe as it has lower down the weight by 80 kgs. It happened because BMW integrated carbon fibre in the roof structure quite wisely in accordance with the perfect execution of aluminum in several body panels. Furthermore, the lighter 6-cylinder engine played a pivotal role in weight reduction as it alone took away 10 kgs. Both these vehicles would go on sale by the middle of 2014. However, BMW hasn't spilled the beans on the pricing of these vehicles but as time approaches we would get to know more about them. So, stay tuned to Cardekho for more updates on the same. Cheers!!!
